Wa-hay, it’s the start of the week so Sunday roast must be on the menu but living on my own I can’t see the point in doing all that cooking just for one. This is where the Chequers Inn in Wheeler End comes in. One phone call and Sunday roast take away ordered. Roast lamb, roast potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, green beans, parsnips, stuffing, yorkshire pudding and gravy with a side order of cheesy leeks and sticky toffee pudding and custard which again, I’ll have tonight. Fantastically flavoursome and as you can see from the photo, very generous portion sizes. Looking forward to sampling the weekday menu - I’ve got my eye on Julies Blue Burger. (zipadedodah)

Back tonight for a meal, Wow definitely impressed first time in two yrs, Service excellent, food choice substantial, good quality food with generous portions , add on's or different combination no trouble( I'm fussy) Landlord and Landlady came out to check everything was ok (nice touch) Lovely location great for a dog walk/meal or just a quick pint.

Lovely pub, lovely Landlords, great food (especially portions)- support this lovely local pub, and make sure you have a pint of London Pride- one of the best pints I have had recently!!..

It was the first time we visited Chequers Inn; they didn't have a children's menu or a wine menu. The waitress told us what wine was available; we chose one and was then told it wasn't in stock. When we ordered, the waitress came back and then told us there was no lasagna. We changed the order to burger and chips, one of us ordered the prawn linguine (and two children orders that the waitress confirmed we'd be charged half price for). The linguine came out and then the waitress told us there was no more chips so did we want mash potato with our burgers?!! We refused and said we wanted to leave. The person managing the pub (but said he wasn't the manager) said that we had to understand they'd had many orders that day.... It was 13:00 on a Saturday and when we arrived there was a family of 6-8 people in the restaurant and another 4 adults outside.... such a shame. But we won't be...

Absolutely fabulous place! Beautiful setting and a fantastic pub! Food was amazing, very tasty indeed! Our group had Garlic bread and Soup of the Day to start which was mouth wateringly good followed by roast chicken, roast beef, roast lamb and scampi (not all on the same plate obviously!) and everything that came out of the kitchen was amazing! Not an empty plate left! Piping hot and delicious! Puddings were fab too, really can't think of enough positive words! The landlord Mark was warm and friendly, table service fabulous and bar staff super great too! If ever in the area will definitely be returning! Go, it's most definitely worth a visit! Thank you for making Mother's Day so great! Would give more stars if I...
