The Coffee Bean — Restaurant in England

Absolutely appalled by the service here. When me and my cousin first entered the coffee shop but we were stunned by the rudeness of a lady in which seemed to be the manager. I had greeted her and she simply ignored me. I had asked for a portion of chips and a Panini also with chips she had asked me whether I wanted it plain or not in regards two sources (or so I thought) and of course I wanted it plain. My cousin was next to order and she had asked if the Man behind us could go first we didn’t think much of it so we moved to the side even though that was incredibly rude and I wouldn’t of expected it. When we were scolded to sit down we had to wait at least 25 minutes just for a water and another 10 for the food there were not many people and we had not ordered much either. Finally the food arrived and we were completely confused it was just one Panini with one portion of chips but it’s extra small. When I asked the lady she’d simply disregarded it and I was clearly overcharged as the board had said £2 for chips and I was charged 230 based on the receipt also I had asked for two portions of chips and she completely denied it and said that she asked whether I wanted it plain or not. My cousin made her way to the toilet where she was sounding disgusting on sanitary toilet with no hand soap or toilet roll left she was completely disheartened and disgusted. She wanted to simply wash her hands on the taps were broken and hand dryer not in use. I rarely ever get that disappointed with any type of shop but today really shocked me with the service in there I wouldn’t recommend this at all and the food is so overpriced for what it is the staff are rude and unfriendly and it’s just...

Okay, I haven't been here in quite a number of years. And my memory of the food and place where much different then what I experienced this time. Firstly, every single piece of white furniture was covered in grime top to bottom. I just had a yucky feeling.

Next the food was a complete disappointment. My club sandwich had floppy toast and was loaded with 1 inch of shredded cheese, wet floppy lettuce and bacon that was hard as a rock.

My wife had salmon and scrambled eggs were on a piece of bread that wasn't even toasted and it was soaked through as well. The eggs had no seasoning to speak of and the salmon was just a packet from the shop chopped and all stuck together. The bread was standard Hovis seeded bread which we saw walk through the shop before our order was served.

I watched front of house staff carry two cold "jacket potatoes" from the front to the back (in their bare hands) and someone get some served them 2 minutes later. I know a little about food safety having worked in a kitchen for 2 years and this isn't how you do things.

Rude staff! I would not recommend this place at all! Plus I think they overcharged me, probably on purpose! I will definitely not be going back. There are so many nicer places with friendly staff to eat that are similar or even better than this place. This is a cafe run by young girls who think they can behave appallingly and clearly haven't grown up! Or have any sense at all. Do not expect any intelligence here. There are mixed reviews here and it is an ok cafe but overall it is a 1 star from me and there is nicer places to go and you would probably have a better experience. This place is on the expensive side and the toilets are really not good. They are always out of toilet paper...
