⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Proper Cornish Legend – Cornishh Oven Pasties I’ve eaten a fair few pasties in my time — from high street bakeries to market stalls — but nothing, nothing, compares to what Cornishh Oven delivers. These are pasties worth travelling all the way down from Bournemouth for, and I mean that quite literally. Every bite is a reminder of what a traditional Cornish pasty should be. First off, the crust. You get the choice of flaky or shortcrust, and both are leagues ahead of anything mass-produced. The flaky is light and buttery, practically falling apart in the best way, while the shortcrust is golden, firm, and deeply satisfying. It actually tastes like someone cared about it. No soggy bottoms here. Then there’s the filling — proper chunks of real steak, not that watery minced stuff you find in budget pasties pretending to be the real deal. Every piece feels like it’s been slow-cooked with love, tucked in alongside perfectly seasoned potato, swede, and onion. You get that rich, peppery warmth and depth that screams tradition, not factory line. This is the kind of pasty that doesn’t just fill you up — it makes you feel like you’ve had a taste of Cornwall itself. Honestly, it puts other pasties to shame. Whether you’re a local or driving from miles away like me, Cornishh Oven is well worth the trip. They’ve mastered the art of the pasty — and then some.

Cornish Oven pasties are generally fairly well filled, though the last one I had was a bit too salty & I prefer a bit of gravy. The staff are friendly and efficient, keeping the queue moving even when busy. Prices are increasing and are now comparable to higher-end pasty shops; whilst the Cornish Oven produce a very good pasty, its not amongst the pasty 'greats', therefore with the price increases in mind, I may try other places to see if my fondness for The Cornish Oven remains the same. But if you're after a good pasty, then these are definitely worth a visit. A bit of advice from a local to a holidaymaker, stay well clear of Rowes & Warren's as you'll be paying similar money for a mass produced & much smaller pasty fiilled with mulch. Where as you won't go to far wrong with the Cornish Oven.

For the third time in a row we’ve visited here and left empty handed, and this is the last time unfortunately. The first two times we’ve stopped by the grab a pasty, it’s always at approximately 1pm as we head home from Truro at this time. Both times they have had no steak pasties. In what many would consider a pasty shop. Today, we stopped by instead hoping to grab sausage rolls, and once again they had none left. A couple behind us also left empty handed. It’s lunchtime on a Saturday, I find it slightly absurd that a bakery consistently completely runs out of its primary products well before closing time. I think this is a real issue and I’m hoping this review may be seen and help to rectify a clear issue that will certainly be losing potential income. Sincerely, a pasty loving Cornishman.

I went to the Cornish Oven, Scorrier hoping to have a quick lunch stop on the way back from somewhere, it looked nice, roomy, welcoming etc. On entering, we discovered two sour faced women behind the till who did their best to be as unaccommodating and monosyllabic as they could manage, Having bought my pastry (which was good) I headed over to the table / bar area in the window adorned with napkins and condiments, only to find that you are NOT allowed to eat your purchase on the premises....Seriously? We then noticed that we appeared to have been overcharged for the pastry item and queried it with the stony faced assistant. We were told that the price advertised only applied to items in the chiller, if you want the (same) item but not from the chiller, its a completely different price. We left with a nice warm pastry but a little bewildered as to what had...
