I had a table pre booked for 12pm for 4 adults 2 toddlers with high chairs for a twins 3yr old bday. On entering the pub there was no one to be seen and no music, it was like the pub was shut. The staff where huddled around the corner chatting and making no effort to greet us until we approached them. We were then seen to a booth with no highchairs plus the booths weren,t even suitable for highchairs. We then had to sort a table out for us to sit at, we then had a drinks order which took a while, then a while later our food order was taken. Our first course took 1/2hr to turn up. Then we waited and waited for a our main meals. Plus I found out the menu is different to there website and the advertising for the carvery is wrong, if your only going to have the carvery on a Sunday, the falcon really need to take there sign down from outside which says (everyday carvery). Our meals finally turned up and my twins where getting agitated so we ate our meals and went. The toddlers meals were on very hot plates, which in my opinion is very unsuitable. I asked for extra plates to then be given large adult plates. I was expecting to be given kids plastic plates. Our experience was so disappointing because I had a bday cake put by to sing happy bday but the poor customer service and food let it all down. So we decided to go. I chose the falcon for really good past experiences but for me it's...

We’ve visited several times over the years and always had a pleasant experience. However, visited yesterday with a voucher that wasn’t due to expire until well into 2026. Male server accepted it and rang our order in, another female server then refused to accept the voucher and refused to let us speak to a manager claiming there was nobody senior on shift and that she wasn’t authorised to do anything about the situation. Ended up spending £130 as we had travelled specifically to the Falcon to use the voucher. Before my partner had even made it outside with his drink (which he was incorrectly charged for, having ordered a shandy and being charged for a pint) one of the many wasps from the bar area flew in to his drink. The same member of staff who apparently can’t make a decision without senior sign off, but no senior staff member works a Tuesday, was then “unable” to replace it or issue a refund for the fact she had charged for a pint instead of a shandy. There were also numerous errors on the bill and with the food when it was served. The staff seemed more preoccupied in regularly popping out to sit with the regulars in the sun than doing any actual work and it’s a shame that changing hands has resulted in the pub not being as good as...

Took my girlfriend and my mam here today been a few times and had no problems waited for a table at the door 3 members of staff walked past us then showed to a table eventually and the 1st question I was asked was are you staying for the bingo 😳 Sat for 10 minutes before someone came to take our order ordered hunters chicken cheese burger and haddock and chips then waited another 40 minutes before our food came (all the people playing bingo were given bingo cards ) cut into my chicken and nearly choked on a bone the chef must be a magician he can dry a chicken bread out whilst not cooking the bacon the girlfriend had the cheese burger the cheese was a funny grey colour the onion rings were soggy half the chips were raw complained when I paid the bill and wasn’t charged for the 2 rubbish meals the haddock n chips were ok ish according to my mam have been a few times but won’t be going back maybe they should concentrate on food and drink...

Really good (and obviously new) outdoor space for dining when the weather is good. (And some heated umbrellas we noted.) The food was fine - heavy on the chips - but perfectly good pub fare. Felt a little on the expensive side but it was worth it to be able to enjoy a meal out after so long. Update in June 2022: the outdoor dining area has been enhanced with large areas of fake grass and there was a shiny Street Food trailer when we visited which brought good smells with it! I had a Greek gyros wrap from the street food side which came with some very tasty mayo for the fries (a good thing as they were a little bland without it). The wrap was tasty and really solidly packed. The bitter shandies were curiously watery and ÂŁ15 a head for a wrap, 2 burgers, 2 shandies and a soft drink felt like a lot, but it was a pleasant meal out. There was also a bouncy castle to entertain the kids which was clearly very popular.

Delicious carvery Sunday dinner. We usually go to the Jolly Drovers in Leadgate (its partner pub) but this is closer. It's also much roomier, so didn't seem overly busy even though it was almost full. I think this will become our regular Sunday dinner go-to. We've just been again on a Thursday night and the street food van was open. I had a chilli and cheese flatbread and the wifey had a chicken pide pizza with cheesey fries. Both delicious.

Great staff, were told as it was very busy (it was!!) the food may be a little while. However it turned up very quickly, well within 20 minutes which was a pleasent surprise. We had 3 burgers and a pie, the meals were all perfect and excellent quality. Lovely location, great staff who had time to stop for a chat and gorgeous food..... The chips were to die for!! Will certainly be returning when in the area!
