I visited this place today and was excited to try the specials on the board. I opted for the chicken lasagne, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. When the dish arrived, I found mostly pasta sheets and an abundance of cheese sauce, but very little chicken. In fact, the chicken amounted to barely a teaspoon’s worth, and it was spread very thinly. The dish also came with a side of chips—only about seven pieces—and a small piece of garlic bread, which was essentially a single baguette slice cut in half, likely to make it look like more. The lasagne didn’t come with any side salad, which was disappointing, though I suspect it would have been a very small portion if it had. What truly shocked me, however, was the £11 price tag for this meal. The server was friendly and offered me an alternative, but due to time constraints and the potential wait for another dish, it wasn’t a viable option. The kitchen staff really need to add more filling to the lasagne and improve the overall portion size. If you're going to charge premium prices, the food quality and portion sizes should reflect that. The heinz bottle of ketchup. Well its cheap ketchup filled in a heinz bottle.

Stopped off here after visiting family and was pleasantly surprised. The place itself is nicely kept, decor is light and airy. The staff were all very friendly Zac in particular very kindly offered recommendations. I had the loaded potato skins to start which were cooked to perfection nice and crisp on the outside and lovely and fluffy on the inside. Followed by the meaty club Sandwich words cannot describe how tasty this was. My fella had the red velvet king prawns to start which he enjoyed, it's the first time he's eaten prawns out and not had a bad thing to say about them. Followed by the chicken steak off the specials board, it came with curly fries, roast potatoes, veg (which sadly was cold) and a dipping sauce. 10 out of 10 for flavour just the veg that let the dish down. Drinks I enjoyed a nice Cappuccino and he had a kiwi mojito mocktail Food was very well presented, excellent value for money and extremely tasty. We will be back again and recommending to others.

I had high hopes for this place. We came on a Saturday afternoon, and only about 2 other tables were occupied. We waited at the bar to be seated and the server came out and handed us two menus and told us to sit down - no direction or attempt to lead us to our table. Ordered two of the steak hot sandwiches, and a plate of nachos, with an oj and water. Oj tasted like it had been sat in an open carton for a week, and when asked if it was fresh when ordering they told us it was. We saw no fresh juicer, so not sure that's true. The two hot sandwiches came and as soon as you lift out these pathetic sandwich halves up, all the topping starts dripping out, just wet and difficult to manage when the bread is toasted to the hardness of a biscuit. And the nachos - absolutely not worth it, soggy chips with a dousing of plastic cheese and watery salsa. What is it with all the watery food in this place! Anyway - don't bother. The server who took our order and we paid was nice though.

Noticed The Fig and Olive a few times driving through Blackburn and decided to pick some food up en route to home. Ordered by phone, menu was available online. Chose X2 Mezze Platter, a Pink Panther burger and a Wagyu burger. Collection no issue. Ready on-time.

Got home and found the following issues with the food Wagyu burger was burnt all over. You got a mouthful of charcoal on biting it. The chicken in the Pink Panther burger was very dry and again overcooked so there was charcoal around the meat. The mezze platters, both smelt off. The tomatoes were off. It was plain inedible. The bread sticks were half soft and half rock hard. The flafaels again were overcooked.

I paid £40 for this meal and was so disappointed, I binned most of it. To follow up I called to the restaurant, and was told I'd get a call from the manager. Over 24hrs later I'm still waiting, but to be honest I'm not expecting anything.

Hope this review helps someone avoid the same fate as me.

Subsequent to the above review, we had a call from the manager who was extremely apologetic, and offered a resolution of a replacement meal. He also assured us that this was not their usual standard. I have, based on the call, changed my star rating from 1 to 2 star based on customer service. I will post another review based on my...
