Quite a small near pub. Card game table when I went as well. Probs do sports but this is a small place limited cider choice but quick friendly service with a smile.

Excellent Sunday lunch here. Food great, prices reasonable and a good old fashioned pub atmosphere. Had this lunch a few times now and we will be back.

Need to be more compassionate towards mental health.. I was taking my wife out on leave with our little boy as she had been really unwell in hospital with her mental health. My wife is the most loving, caring person who would never hurt any one or cause any scenes, she was only ever a risk to herself but definitely not with our child there. I asked if we could have two tables so the staff could have their own table and we could have some privacy just too be asked the most insensitive questions like "she's not going to start kicking off is she" and being told things like "can you be quick" and "first sign of trouble she's out" this was last year but I've just been doing some review and thought I had tonwrite about this experience as now she's well and doing better she can not believe she allowed them to talk to her like that. Just because she had struggles does not make her violent or aggressive. Please go and take some classes compassion. The staff we was with were appalled and said were not staying here with people that rude and we ended up going...

Building is clean tidy, BUT stank of damp! Really off putting - almost left as soon as we arrived (its a very old building on a hill side - advise get rid of the carpet it will be holding moisture) Atmosphere - friendly, welcoming, pub. Food came - portions where COLOSSAL! and thats an understatement, to a point they where off putting, far far to much - over face with the stuff. Food quality - this was biggest shock, AMAZINGLY good. Was not expecting this. (Note to other pubs in the area come, taste and learn! )

I would loved to have tried a desert, if it wasnt for the quantities being...

Just had a drink on way home today at 4pm. My friend and I were the only customers and the young man serving was lovely ! He put whatever film on we wanted and was polite and friendly. The Xmas decorations are beautiful and comfy sofas! Great cosy pub you would feel comfortable as a woman coming in on your own. Next time we will have lunch as the barman recommended the food and the menu did look good. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for the chat sorry did not...
