f you ever find yourself in St Blazey, and you donât pop into The Four Lords, youâve either taken a wrong turn or youâve got something against happiness. This isnât just a pub â itâs a community centre with beer on tap.
Run by Gaz and Jane, who I swear must have trained at Hogwarts for âhospitality wizardry,â the place is one of those rare joints where you walk in a stranger and leave three pints later as a cousin twice removed. The welcomeâs warmer than a Cornish pasty left on the dashboard, and about as filling once youâve had your share of pints.
The beer? Top notch. The price? I had to check I hadnât gone back in time. Honestly, Iâve paid more for bottled water at a motorway services. And if youâre the sort who likes a bit of activity to balance out the drinking â you can chuck darts, smack pool balls, or belt out karaoke like youâre auditioning for Britainâs Got Regrets. Sundays in the beer garden mean live music, and if the weatherâs grim, well, youâve got football on screens dotted about the place â subtle enough that you donât feel like youâve wandered into Currys.
The staff are sharp, the pints come quick, and the vibe is always bang on â mostly down to Gaz and Jane, whose laughter carries louder than the karaoke machine after midnight. Itâs one of those rare pubs that isnât just in the community, it is the community.
Their motto? âLong Live The Local.â And after a night in The Four Lords, youâll be raising your glass...
