Nice, atmospheric pub that allows dogs to join their owners (and if you have an allergy or are afraid of dogs, don't go here). Can take over an hour to get food on a busy Friday in the month of August, but it was to be expected for that time of the year. The fishcakes I had were lovely as was the banger's n' mash. Our 8-year old could play and feed a few goats in the pub's large garden and have a bit of play with other kids. We would probably not go on a Friday again, with a hungry child waiting a long time for food, which is quite stressful. It being busy, meant some parents took no interest in what their kids were up to and there were some not very nice children in the playground (a local child said it was tourists). It was also very smokey. Two days earlier, when we came for the first time, it was quieter and really nice. Our son was treated well, no hitting by other children, and we enjoyed it very much. Not a huge variety in terms of food, though. The menu was more or less the same as a nearby holiday park, but all in all a convenient pub we would return to. Be aware that parking along the main road through Charmouth, where the pub is situated, during the summer months is virtually impossible. Try walking to it from a car parking area, it's...

So I went a few weeks back seems like a nice place although I wanted the vegan burger and the vegan burger can not be called vegan as its cooked on the same grill as meat is very disappointed in this should know its not on in the food industry to do stuff like this nowadays and to know other vegans who didn't ask like me would have eaten a burger with meat juice all over it is a joke even if you try and clean it best you can I just don't understand why can't cook separately or just remove it from the menu as the second it's in contact with a meat surface its not vegan at all even if its plant based its like cooking with milk for somone who is lactose intolerance even though it says lactose free meal that's really going against the whole point of what we believe in too cook in the same oven but same tray/grill not right for...

The food wasn’t spectacular although the garden was pleasant. The lady who greeted us seemed to have problems coping with our medium-sized group. She was passive-aggressive from the start regarding their COVID conventions, which we were more than willing to adhere to. We took it upon ourselves to split across three tables for ease but what followed was a complete mess-up with our orders. A simple apology would have sufficed; it wasn’t a particularly huge deal. Instead we were treated like naughty children and blamed for the confusion! She was impatient, rude and condescending, it made us all feel quite uncomfortable. The other staff were pleasant and professional but we had the sense they were aware of the individual’s behaviour towards us and were compensating. Can’t say any of us would...

A "proper" country pub. Updating has not spoiled it's ancient heritage. Really good ale that's a credit to the cellar staff and service that's very pleasant, helpful but at the same time highly efficient. I'm just a visitor but I'd be more than happy if this was my local!

Called in to just have a drink luckily some people had canceled so was able to eat. Had a lovely roast dinner, no room for desert. . . . Are you curious about electric vehicles. If so why not join the largest EV community. UKEVOC co uk
