Used to be a wonderful little cake stop, can't help but feel a little underwhelmed today. Visited with my grandma at her request (we've been before and she loved it). There was a sign informing us that there would be no food available between 1-2pm, fair enough. We arrived at 12.30 and the waitress was happy to assist us. She took our order and it arrived quickly.
We had lattes but they were very milky and I'm not sure there was much coffee in there. I ordered a jacket potato with brie and cranberry. The potato was well cooked and there was plenty of filling, though it might have been nice to have the brie warm , instead of cold from the fridge. Grandma had a cheese scone which came with cream and jam. This was a bit confusing (does anyone have cream and jam with cheese?!) but apparently it didn't taste of cheese anyway, so the cream was quickly slathered on.

We used to visit often when our children were smaller as it is very family friendly with plenty of high chairs and has good baby change facilities.
Food is good and reasonably priced and the portions are on the larger side. My partner had a toastie and side salad and it was huge even for him. I had a cream tea which again was huge. I ended up sharing my scone because I couldn't eat it all.
There is free parking opposite. And if that is full there is usually parking on a nearby...
