We had the short Rib special with 'Pickled vegetables' was just pure uncooked fat and the Pickled vegetables were just red onions and for almost £10 it's not really value for money. Smallest portion of the cheapest bookers fries for a whopping £2.95 with a Toastie for almost £10 the bread wasn't Toasted and the cheese that was inside was cold and not melted. Coffees were very good but also very expensive The short Rib was sent back and replaced with soup of the day. £7.50 For a soup, toastie, tiny portion of Fries and two Coffees it came to £26.70. So not the best value for money. And disappointed after reading such positive reviews. The decor is beautiful and the front of house lady was very, very good at her job and extremely attentive. We absolutely love the shop and have been visiting for a long time with the staff in there being so helpful and attentive.

What a gem of a place, a lovely cafe bistro tucked away in barrow the hive seating area is up stairs with a shop being on the ground floor. We ordered our drinks and food of which the choices were very good and nothing like you would expect I went for 2 of the tapas garlic mushroom and feta, black and white pudding rulard with black garlic ketchup,my wife ordered baked cod and chorizo all of which were fantastic. It is a little more expensive here but it is well worth it. the staff are lovely and friendly. well worth a visit to this quirky place

We popped into Hive for a much needed caffeine fix and the flat white didn't disappoint. Coffee was spot on - smooth, well balanced, and exactly what you'd hope for. The set up in there is just as good, really nicely put together space with a chill & quirky vibe. You can tell there's been some thought put into the details. Great spot to reset and refuel. Big thumbs up from the team 👍🏻 A great addition to the Kaldi Coffee Trail and one we're looking forward to coming back to soon!

Where to start!? Didn't make a reservation as it was our first time going, but managed to snag a seat on a busy Sunday when the roast menu was on. Service was superb from start to finish & our order came out extremely quickly for such quality food. The roast beef dinner was superb, with the red cabbage being especially delicious and tangy. The halibut was also delightful and some of the best fish we have tasted. No shortage in portion sizes, we planned on 2 courses and we're happy enough after just a main, but were informed that the price was the same for with dessert, so both snuck in a sticky toffee pudding which was equally as delicious, paired with a small scoop of some of the most delightful ice cream I've had the pleasure of trying. Our servers were extremely polite and helpful, and the hard work from the chefs clearly shows in their food. Left a 30% tip and will...
