A disappointing experience for me. Let down by some poor service. Firstly no menu's where delivered to our table and after 15 minutes we had to ask for them. After this we asked for the kids menu that again didn't materialise until we asked for it again.

After ordering food we waited patiently but again this was a long wait. My young daughter (18 months) by this time was starting to get agitated for her food.

I asked a member of staff for just a Yorkshire pudding she could snack on while waiting. Staff member went off to never return. I went up to member of staff and asked again.. No Yorkshire puds available but we have some bread. Fine we'll have some bread. Again staff member didn't return.. Now I'm getting annoyed. Went back up and asked again (3rd time) and guess what we had the meals on the table before she returned. She then returned eventually and said they didn't have any bread!! Strange as I had ordered a burger and could see a bread roll right in front of my eyes!!

Clearly this girl doesn't have kids and understand requirements for them. It would be greatly appreciated if when asked they could fulfill the request asked for and if unable to, come back and let us know, not after 15 minutes of continually asking.

To top of this experience I asked for some ketchup for my burger and chips and was given a miniscule portion in this small bowl. I think I'd of gotten more from a sachet of ketchup at McDonald's.

So for me awful service and a £13 burger and chips with insufficient sauce. Won't...

The food is delicious! We ordered Sunday lunch and it was absolutely lovely. Couldn’t fault it. The place was packed and we felt crammed in with a very loud female on the corner table screaming constantly in laughter, but it’s a small place and popular so you have to accept that. The young girl that served us was polite and friendly but once our food was served she did not come back over to check to see if we were happy. What spoilt the experience for us was that when we had the bill it showed an extra Ā£4 on it. We queried this as the 2 roasts we ordered were Ā£16 each and already listed on the bill. The young girl that brought us the bill, which was different from the one that had served us, didn’t really know what the answer was other than to say that chicken is expensive!! This confused us further as the chicken roast prices were listed on the menu as Ā£16 each and that’s what we thought we were paying?! She then said she would go and ask somebody else and came back to say there was a glitch and she would take Ā£2 off. Again we queried this as to why Ā£2 and why not the whole Ā£4? She went away again and came back and said oh no, it’s fine, you don’t have to pay it, and said it was something to do with the online menu being Ā£4 more! We checked online on the way home, and it wasn’t. So it was all very confusing!! Good job we noticed, I wonder how many others didn’t?? I would really love a response from the pub about this...

Absolutely appalled with our experience at The holly bush pub. Living only a minute walk from the pub, it’s the perfect local for us to visit, but after today we will not be returning again. We came in and was spoken to abruptly by a man in a fleecey hoodie who we thought was actually a customer by his choice in clothing (for someone working front of house you would of thought he’d be a bit more up together). We got shown to our table we had booked however the man became overly rude with us as we had booked a table just for drinks but got told we were they would not have let us to book a table for just drinks, so there was now no space for us to have drinks as we were not allowed to sit on our booked table. We asked the man what he was going to do as he had took the booking for drinks however just repeatedly told they would not of took a booking for just drinks and that there was now no where to sit us. We came here for a 21st birthday celebration which was purely ruined by his bad attitude towards us. As someone who has worked in hospitality, this is not the right attitude to have to keep your customers returning. He was extremely rude and totally went against the ā€˜customer is always right’. Very poor customer service better off trying The white Harte just on up the road. Very polite and...

Visited in a fairly large group (8) on a Friday evening, so prebooked which turned out to be useful as it was very busy/popular. The beef pie was incredible, so much filling, rich in flavour, accompanied with crunchy chips and some veggies, and a rich gravy. The specials dessert of blueberry and dark chocolate cheesecake was also great, and the portion of both was generous. The liber and mash another member of the group had was also amazing. Others had a mix of the nibbles/small bites which were a bit variable with some being much better that others. Service was friendly however there was some miscommunication on detail of one of the desserts. Would 100% visit again for the beef pie alone.

Lovely place for a traditional sunday roast! I booked just an hour before closing time due to being let down with another restaurant who didn’t have the table to accommodate us. I’m so glad I chose The HollyBush in replacement, lovely and friendly staff, food came quick and was so delicious! They even catered for my toddler who even had a small plate of gammon, roasties, roasted veg, yorkshire pudding and gravy as the kind man mentioned it’ll be expensive for a kids plate of food for Ā£9 for a small toddler to eat, so we just paid Ā£5 for her roast. Will definitely be back and possibly not just for a sunday roast as the menu looked just as goodā˜ŗļø.

Went here this evening for a little family catch up tea and the food and service was lovely. Staff were very friendly as we walked in and asked for a table. The bar staff were great helping is pick our drinks - we wanted Gin. And the food was rather enjoyable. Only issue was the items served slighty differed from what we read on the menu. As i ordered the buttermilk fried chicken burger but was just grilled chicken in a seasoning in the burger And no mash was served with the pie. We didn't question it as we were chatting away and enjoying the food and was more of than after thought once we got out the pub. But had a lovely time overall.
