We booked a table for our Annerversary and my husband's birthday for 7pm..When we arrived we followed arrows to the eatery area to be told we was in the wrong area..Rude staff not welcoming,we were seated by the conservatory door people in and out and draughty,I asked if we could move and was sat in the corner of a very Dusty dity area with a broken window behind me boarded up with cardboard..when our food came out mine was fish chips and mushy peas,my husband's was steak and some mash of suppose to be potatoe and peas..The quality of my fish was horrid it smelt was rubbery and tasteless and vold, my husband's steak was low quality and rubbery and tasteless..we complained and they took my food away to put another (fresher one) on my plate..my husband changed his potatoes to chips..when eating the steak it made him sick as quality was grisly and very low stantard of food,he went to toilet to be sick..I couldn't eat my fish it was under cooked and bad quality..we asked to speak to manager who was a young man who was draughted in temporary to cover..All he could do is apologise ..It spoilt our evening. The whole place needs attention the roof has collapses on one cornor the chimneys are bring held up by wood..The place is dirty cobwebs everywhere ..Toilets smeltl I had to change toilet roll over..It use to be a beautiful place but standards are low ..hygiene is very low.. table chairs cushions all miss match ..very very disapointed in the whole experience staff seem at a loss what to say or do..quality of food needs looking at and chef needs training to know fresh produce..I've reported this to Hygiene standards for bars and...

Well where do I start. The worst hotel experience I've ever had. I booked a room on their website with a Kingsize bed and a bath as both my partner and I are 6ft and my partner is pregnant and could not seep well in a smaller bed. I arrived in the evening to be shown to a different room to the one I'd specifically paid for, The room we were given had a small bed and no bath. After complaining I was told that someone else had been given the room I'd paid for. They repeatedly blamed the mix up on a 'computer issue' as if somehow it wasn't their problem and no solution was offered they just left us in the room. So i went to the bar to complain and was told they had no other rooms and that if i was unhappy I should find another hotel (At 21:00 with a pregnant lady!!). I was told that regardless of what had been advertised the room was what was being offered and I in no way was going to receive any discount or anything complimentary as way of an apology as is customary in these sorts of situations. I told them I was not happy but had no other option but to stay the night as my pregnant wife was tired. We THEN discovered that there wa an issue with the drains in the bathrooms as the STENCH of sewage was unbearable. We had to spend the whole night with the bathroom door closed and light on so the extractor fan could run all night to remove the smell. It was so bad my partner had to use the toilets in the bar. Now we understood why the room we should've had was given to someone else. Room in general and overall décor was shabby, stained and old which is fine, but absolutely inexcusable...

Stayed for one night. Good points, easy to find, plenty of free parking, amazing walk directly out the rear to an old chapel on the hill which gives amazing views of the sea. Staff very welcoming and pub nice to sit and have a relaxing drink inside or out the rear. Room has toiletries and towels, kettle and some tea or coffee and a TV. Food in restaurant was good and on the night we stayed there was a pub quiz which was brilliant with a funny host. Not so good points. Lovely looking room but at front of hotel directly next to the road which was much busier than I envisioned. Windows are single glazed so noise was loud and constant. Curtains do not reach the bottom of the window so light has direct access, not great in summer if you like a dark bedroom however if you sleep well not an issue. Shower was terrible, took a long long time to get even warm and then very weak. Luckily we'd booked two rooms and the other room shower was much better so we used that one. Find out WiFi before you go to room, there are no details in room so if you need anything breakfast times, room vacancy times etc you have to go back downstairs into the bar. Albeit COVID secure a wipe clean info sheet in each room would solve this. Breakfast was lovely but took 20 mins just to be able to ask for coffee despite not appearing to be busy, however when the coffee and food came it was amazing. On the whole a useful stop in a journey which didn't take us off our route but not sure because of the noise and light...

Great location in a beautiful village. Hotel and pub in an old building, you can feel the history at every step. Tasty food, large portions, professional service. The equipment of the room and bathroom is quite outdated, without attention to detail (cables hanging around the TV, bedside lamps with cables too short to plug them in, poor ventilation). Despite everything, the price was very low and adequate to the conditions offered. I wouldn't call it a three-star hotel, the standard is definitely much lower. However, a one-night stay is more than enough. I recommend it to anyone who does not need to wallow in luxury.

Lovely setting in the centre of the village. Parking at the rear of the building, a bit tight to get to, but plenty of room to park once through the arch. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only downside was the hot water took ages to come through for the shower and not a power shower by any means, but I was warned about this when I booked in. Food was very nice and the service excellent. Good menu and they took time to make sure my dietary requirements dealt with properly. I would recommend as a place to stay.

Ended here after an unfortunate booking somewhere else that we decided to let go The owner told us she had no more rooms and when we explain our situation, she was kind enough to offer us a room where the toilets didn’t work but we accepted it She made us a deal, £80 for a night including breakfast (which was very good) This inn deserves better rating than it currently has. The place is a bit run down but the owner is doing an exceptional work to keep it going
