The chicken burger was the nicest one I have had in a long time. We went on a recommendation by friends. It was our first 'date night' since having our son. So we wanted to be close by should we be needed. It wasn't busy but was a nice atmosphere with the regulars in after finishing work or down for their usual catch up on a Friday night. We sat at a table in the more secluded area and we order some drinks and was given a menu. Not a big amount to choose from but I don't feel it was needed as a nice selection for all. The food was excellent and you could tell it was prepared fresh. Good value for money in my opinion. Was very happy with the whole experience.

Called in again this evening... same great service, selection of beers and well cooked food Haven't been to this pub for more year's than I care to remember... and now I'm wondering why?... such a lovely local pub, where you're made to feel welcome by the great team behind the bar... everything if so comfortable and familiar... looking forward to my next visit Visited again this evening and had a meal with an old friend... Good food, well presented without a wait, and great value for money The Mega burger tasted as good as it looks

Went for lunch as recommended by my walkers group. Had a sausage, red onion and mozzarella panini which came with lovely big crunchy chips which was a good portion. Friendly atmosphere, and they had good selection of second hand books. Would recommend, has parking and out side area.

Well what a waste of time and money that was. Rather have a McDonald's. Started with sitting outside in the garden which was filled with kids and had this annoying dog barking through the entire meal. After all the notices about social distancing inside the bar this all went to pot once you got outside. Placed our order for the food then had to wait for ages, im assuming hand made with how long it took to get here but food was poor and tasteless when it arrived. Also arrived before we had any cutlery, which we had to wait for while staring at the food. Kids didn't enjoy pizza and chips were so chunky I had to get a chainsaw to get thru them. When my wife complained about the food they said they will inform the chef and come back to us...took another 15mins before they got back to us. Least had the decency to refund us the pizza and fish. Started clearing our table and gave up halfway. Sat for another 10 mins while staring at a few dirty plates before they were eventually collected. The staff were very friendly however and our server Zoe was very friendly and one of the only enjoyable parts of the experience. A different server however, don't know her name, had been serving another family and hadnt informed them of a lack of salad dressing until after they had placed their order and seemed put out by the issue when their food arrived. All in all not a great visit. Maybe would come for a pint on nice weather but don't think I'll go for food again. Even with the refund in kids meals and my wife's fish I still...

On the Eve of Tier 3 we visited this pub. Local to us, as we walked past earlier in the day, it could be seen that renovations had been done and it looked very welcoming. Duly, that day a table was booked for 3 in the evening time. (support bubble). A lot of the menu was not available, but understandable in the circumstances. However it meant that all of us would have the rump steak. All agreed it was the best steak we'd had for some considerable time. Nicely cooked, served by a most engaging waitress, full of humour, but efficient with it I drank a couple of pints of Oracle. Nicely kept with a decent head. Others had wines. We caught the experience just going, effectively, into a lockdown for the hospitality trade. The result of which, understandably, a lot of the menu was curtailed. However, based on this evening; we shall be...

There is a good play area outside with a good sized beer garden. The food is hand made and by the length it taken for the food to come out I would like to say its done to order but not sure if that's the case. The food has large portions at a good price.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

The facilities were clean and organised apart from the baby changing/ disabled toilet area this area looks a feels like it's been forgotten about. It was filthy with flys, spider webs an overflowing nappy bin and contaminated baby change area this area let's you down massively. I would be surprised if any disabled person could get there as its blocked by cleaning equipment which is ironic as that area is disgusting. At the end of our visit the offers were not on the bill so check your bill...
