First of all, we traveled from Cambridge to visit this lounge. There were 12 of us, along with kids who were 16 and over, and our plan was to enjoy Shisha while having food. However, they rejected us and insisted that the kids must eat inside the restaurants, while all the adults are allowed to go to the back. Unhappy with this, we decided to try our luck again and informed them that if the kids couldn't sit and eat in the lounge, we would leave.
The assistant manager, whose English proficiency was poor, then took one of us upstairs and offered a private room for £250, Moreover, he promised that if our total bill exceeded £250, he would deduct that amount, making it an attractive proposition. With this offer, we thought it was a good idea and agreed to proceed.
As a result, we all opted for mix grills to reach the £250 spending mark. Unfortunately, the food we received was disappointing, as it was served cold and didn't taste very nice. Despite this, we ordered plenty of drinks to meet the spending requirement, anticipating that we would only pay for the Shisha, food, and drinks.
However, our high hopes were shattered when we discovered that the assistant manager had misled us. The Shisha we ordered, priced at £15 each, was charged at an inflated rate of £25 each. Furthermore, the promised deduction of £250 from the venue fee didn't materialize; instead, they only subtracted £150. Consequently, our total bill skyrocketed to £410, leaving us feeling scammed and deceived.
Frustrated by this situation, we attempted to negotiate the price and voice our complaints about their unethical practices. Nevertheless, the manager emerged and adamantly insisted that we pay £420. We explained that the assistant manager had assured us otherwise, but he refused to believe our account. Instead, he shifted the blame onto us, claiming that we should have used common sense and understood their poorly explained terms. Adding to the distress, when one of the younger kids threatened to leave a negative review based on the terrible experience, the situation escalated with the manager trying to pick a fight.
Throughout the entire encounter, both the manager and the assistant manager continued to spout nonsense and lie, attempting to deflect responsibility and hold us accountable for their miscommunication. They offer a decent menu of sweet and savoury with a spotless and beautifully decorated eating area. In the Shisha lounge, you're treated like a VIP. The sofas are comfortable, the staff regularly check on you to make sure you have all you need and are only too happy to help. The starlit canopy above you along with some pumping tunes really create an awesome 18+ atmosphere to chill with friends without any riff raff (since the staff are so strict with their policy).
