Brand new Italian on Lyde, hopefully a good addition to the area. We dined four of us last week one evening and found that the prices were fair although there is no discounts or special offers on any evening. Sadly the service was very slow, the restaurant was only half full so I’m not sure why they were not overly attentive, the food was average quality and as others have mentioned the venue is very loud, two other issues to improve on, blinds are needed as customers are being blinded on sunny evenings whilst trying to socialise and enjoy a meal and the soft drinks need to be much bigger - £3.50 for a tiny 200ml Coke Zero is overpriced compared to other venues who offer a full large draft Coke for the same price. Overall a nice modern venue which will hopefully make some improvements over the coming months.

They have only just opened so it’s a little rough around the edges, service was very slow, we had to chase to order food and drinks. Quite a few mistakes were made with our meals. Due to these issues and delays we were then rushed off the table so they could get the next lot in, with plates being cleared around us whilst some were still eating their late to arrive meals. The food itself was pretty good, average portions and prices about what you’d expect. The building has large windows and is open and tall, it’s quite noisy and several people on our table had issues with the setting sun blinding them throughout the evening.

Tried Vino & Pane for the first time and was genuinely impressed. I usually leave the crust on my plate, but this time I finished the whole thing. The dough was thin, crisp, and full of flavor probably the best pizza base I’ve had in a long time. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back.

A Wonderful Authentic Italian Hospitality and Cuisine in Bristol!

I absolutely and highly recommend Vino e Pane – this charming restaurant has quickly become one of my favourite dining experiences in Bristol. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels more like visiting family than just going out for a meal.

The team of chefs at Vino e Pane are exceptional and state-of-the-art. Every dish is a masterclass in authentic Italian cuisine, crafted with passion, precision, and an evident love for tradition. The ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully sourced, and the flavours are perfectly balanced — whether it is the rich and comforting pasta dishes, the beautifully presented antipasti, or the excellent desserts, every bite transports you straight to the heart of Italy.

The waiters and waitresses are equally impressive — professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their friendly approach and genuine enthusiasm for the food, beer and wine they serve create an experience that feels both refined and relaxed. They are always on hand to explain the menu or recommend the perfect wine pairing, making every guest feel truly cared for.

A special mention must go to Elisabetta, the manager, whose presence is the soul of Vino e Pane. Her passion for Italian culture and hospitality radiates throughout the restaurant. Elisabetta ensures every detail is perfect and that each guest feels welcomed, appreciated, and at home. Her ability to blend professionalism with excellent hospitality is truly rare and makes a visit to Vino e Pane unforgettable.

In a city filled with dining options, Vino e Pane stands out not just for the excellence of its food, but for its authentic Italian heart. Whether you are looking for a special dinner, a family celebration, or simply a place to enjoy outstanding food and wine, this is the place to go.

Bravo to the entire team – and grazie mille for an unforgettable experience! I look forward to returning again and...

Our second trip to eat here and the response would be the same for both visits. Having worked in hospitality for 7 years in the past, I noticed the following.

First visit - they did not have our booking - this could be due to not having a computerised system, but they still found a table for us. But it felt like that once seated, there was no consistency.

Both times we were seated and then mostly ignored. It did take a while (35 mins first time, 15 mins second time) to get a drinks order. The food orders were also slow to be taken after. It felt like the waitress/waiters were just roaming around and not designated a section to ensure people were served.

Second visit we were not asked for any further drinks or to look at the dessert menu, so we decided to go home. First visit we got the wrong drinks and they were added to our bill. They did take them off when we went up to pay the bill.

There is no real ambience - it's such a big space vertically that sound carries. It might be nice to put on some Italian music - just background, to drown out the chatter. It does sound like a school hall dinner room with all the chatter. We did notice that a lot of people looked and sounded annoyed for waiting so long.

I think they just need to sort out the service (especially when they add the service fee to the bill!).

The staff were lovely, and the food was excellent for the price point so far - we would still go back again. You have a goldmine...

We went here about a month ago. The venue is lovely and decorated well. The food was absolutely delicious, however, as others have said the service was really slow. After waiting about 20 minutes, we were asked what drinks we wanted. Fifteen minutes later we received them. We weren't asked if we wanted another but I flagged a waitress and, again, it took quite a time to arrive. They are also quite expensive. I asked the waitress taking our drinks order a food question and then asked to order. She said she wasn't allowed to do that but would get someone else to come over. That was another 20 minutes. I noticed the table next to us, who ordered first, didn't get their food at all until we had nearly finished and then it was the wrong order. In fairness, I believe these are just teething issues and as the food is so delicious, I would definitely return. As someone else commented, I also do not like the service charge added. It seems businesses, and they all do it these days, add it. It used to be for large groups but seems to have seeped in to every order now. It should be to the discretion of the customer IF they have received good service. I would rather they put it on to the cost of the food/drink and then I wouldn't...
