Awful slow service, over 30 minutes just to receive drinks, I noticed others asking for refunds having waited even longer just for coffee. Plenty of staff who just seem lost and the rudest lady behind the till. They don't take orders as the table, you pay at till, so all they have to do is make the drinks and take them to the table, why should this take 35 minutes? You can make 4 coffees at once on your machine. Why make one at a time? Also, it is shocking that you ask for a tip when you pay before you have received anything. I tipped 10% and should have asked for a refund. If the service is going to be so slow just for a hot drink, tell people as they are waiting to be seated and when they order so at least people have the chance to go somewhere quicker if in a rush. As for the tips, your absolutely taking the mick. Table was dirty throughout with previous guests plates pushed to one side. The place wasn't busy so really unsure how they were in such a muddle. Lady making the coffee was so rude. No one shows an interest in you and you are made to feel like you are an absolute inconvenience to them. Such a shame as the place itself looks lovely. We weren't the only people dissatisfied about the waiting time. No apology. Just poor...

Wife had the special sausage sandwich and I had cheese and onion quiche and we could resist the fruit scone (I got the last one) and a large slice of lemon drizzle for the boss.
Great on a nice day, sat by the steam watching not very much happening in a gorgeous Cumbrian village.
Well worth a drive out from the Lake District with great walks in the area or even a trip down to the Solway Plain with views over the firth to Scotland. Fortunately, for us,...
