We had a fantastic team lunch here for 24 people, and everything was absolutely standout. Kirsty and her team looked after us so well, even on a busy, sunny Friday before the May bank holiday. Communication with Lizzie beforehand was super easy — the team put together a bespoke menu for us which was perfect and catered for all our dietary needs and allergens without any fuss, including vegan and vegetarian guests.

The food was 10/10 — a beautiful Ottolenghi-style buffet with some really exciting options. We enjoyed lamb koftas, celeriac skewers, chicken wings, topped focaccia, and some delicious, veg-centric salads. Everything was full of flavour, clearly made with top-quality, seasonal produce like Fen Farm cheese (yum). The sweets were unreal and presented beautifully — a real highlight, especially if you love rhubarb (I do!).

The setting is lovely too. There’s no car park due to the location but plenty of space to park on the high street. We had Teapigs tea and coffee afterwards, which was just as nice, and the garden was set up so beautifully in the shade with flowers on the table — a really thoughtful touch.

Very glad we found this gem. We only wish we were a little closer, as we’d love to return more often! Would highly recommend for a special occasion — or simply...

Absolutely incredible evening from the warming vibe, delicious food and humble staff.

We had the newly added orange duck plus 3 starters equivalent to ‘one main’ as I love nibbly bits. Every plate was made with delicacy and you can tell the kitchen staff really do care for their dishes. Same for the front of house, it’s not often you see hospitality staff who genuinely care about their job and are enjoying their shift!

People who are moaning that it’s ‘too expensive’ clearly haven’t ran their own hospitality business before and don’t know something called ‘beer tax’ you get MORE than what you pay and I’d much rather pay slightly more for a local business than a bog standard chain. Especially after COVID where businesses have suffered to the worst extent. You can see how much love and effort has gone into everything, a well crafted menu full of unique flavours, something on their for everyone.

Thank you for such an enjoyable evening. We will be returning many times and bringing...

Fantastic, friendly service and food! Booked a table for 2 (which was easy from the Pubs Website) and ordered from the great menu, Mum went for fish and chips (which was huge!) and I stumped for the rolled pork fillet, presentation was brilliant and 2 clean plates later mum followed up with sticky toffee pudding while I took the cheese board and a lovely glass of port. All cooked/presented to perfection. From the outside the exterior is still WIP but on entering the restaurant area and bar is light, spacious and welcoming, with space between the tables that doesn't dampen the atmosphere but means you are not knocking elbows with your neighbours. Obviously there has been a lot of work preparing the interior and if the same attention is carried out to the exterior (of the building) this will definitely become one of Harrold's prime spots and will no doubt have people visiting from miles around. Would thoroughly recommend, and will definitely be...

Honestly, I’m am so impressed with this restaurant. It was my husbands birthday and he wanted a Sunday Roast. I asked some friends and they recommended this place and we were not disappointed. We’re quite hard to please for a Sunday Lunch. We’re quite pedantic about a lot of elements but The Oakley Arms smashed it. My husband, who isn’t prone to compliment, said the beef was so tender he barely believes it’s really beef. I had the veggie option and was pleased to have roast potatoes and a Yorkshire, which are often excluded from a vegetarian roast. It was delicious. I cannot recommend the cauliflower cheese enough. The staff were tentative, friendly and excellent with the kids. The desserts were delicious and great range of homemade ice creams. They made the effort of giving my husband some homemade bonbons for his birthday. We will definitely be back and excited to bring family. We highly recommend.

Friendly, reasonably priced gastropub serving locally sourced modern British food on an ever changing menu . Dishes are made from scratch, with great care and attention. Immaculately clean, tasteful decor in this beautiful historic building. I'd recommend booking, the place was full on our Saturday evening visit. Crispy chicken starter was generous, with SE Asian influences of chilli and shaves of cucumber. The game pie was superb, special mention of the buttery and beautifully textured pastry, good chunks of meat and a flavourful gravy. Incredibly filling and tasty. Chocolate mousse was misnamed imo. Huge chunks of thick chocolate covered honeycomb surrounding two scoops of textured malted milk ice cream, sitting on a rich splodge of, more ganache than mousse. It was indulgent and utterly fantastic. Happy to recommend, and worth taking guests to.
