I came looking for my old review to share the picture with someone on Facebook, but it seems somehow my review has been removed! So here it is again. It's a beautiful little pub that I used to use for lunch meetings until the food quality went downhill. The last time I ate there the food was literally inedible to the point where I chipped a tooth trying to eat my burger! It had been cooked to the point of shoe leather.

I did explain this, all I got was a limp "sorry", no offer of replacement or refund, despite not a single full mouthful having been consumed. Even more galling given the high prices! I don't mind paying Michelin restaurant prices if the food is good, but not for inedible shoe leather.

I'll go back through my Google photo album see if the original photos I took of the burger are there but it's been more...

The place is a community hub. It, like many properties in the area, is in bad shape looking from the outside, but inside is a pleasant surprise. There is a nice-looking garden at the rear. The main issue with noise was actually the very, very loud voice of the lady who was serving behind the bar. She's only small but a voice like a foghorn. We were trying to chat at a table distant from the bar, and there were a number of customers in the pub. However, she single-handedly was able to stop us from hearing each other. We didn't order food. I think it might've been good. The pub has some lovely little items of snail related decor and other really good art. I would go back if the lady in question was having a day off.

Edit- Went back. Food was good and bonus- the loud staff member was absent so that made everything...

So after years of living in Wraysbury I regularly use the perseverance, we have always loved the fact we can walk there with the children, have a dinner and listen to a band on a Sunday. I tried to book the pub on a Sunday for my husbands birthday stating there will be quite alot of people and so the chef wasn't under pressure we would stagger the sittings of food, also due to being a lot of us I asked if we could use the side of the pub so we wasn't in the restaurant where other people were dining , I was told I had to pay ÂŁ150 to the pub before I had even thought about buying a drink or dinner! So disappointing as we have used this pub for years, I have now thankfully found a pub down the road who welcomed us and were really...

The ultimate village pub. Short listed for CAMRA's Pub of the Year 6 years running, as well as winner of Cider Pub of the year in 2017, The Perseverance offers great cask ales and ciders, brilliant home cooked food, a beautiful garden, with an incredibly welcoming, pet-friendly atmosphere. A real family pub, with the best live music in the area every other Tuesday for 'Buskers Evening' and during their weekly Sunday afternoon Music Sessions. A MUST VISIT pub for anyone living in the area or just passing through!

I love this pub! Friendly, knowledgeable staff (Sommelier on site! 🍷👍) fabulous food, gorgeous garden and dog friendly - what more could you ask for? Good beer, apparently. Don't drink it myself, but my brother tells me it's really very good and a free house. Top tip: seafood platter! (And we'd already tucked in before the photo!)
