All you can eat Buffet... Well, the staff are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The place looks amazing and really well looked after and clean. The buffet on most accounts is amazing, with a good range of food that tastes great. There were a couple of things that were not on game like the sausages were Very well done ( the venue was a bit empty today so can't expect them to cook fresh for it every 10 mins tho ) You can't toast your own bread or warm your own pancakes you have to ask staff to do it, other than that the food was perfect. Will definitely be going back and will definitely recommend to others, I understand it's a bit far out but it's well worth it. Could do with better lights in the toilet cubicles too. Thanks for a great morning and breakfast.

This pub is child friendly... but not really bicycle or dog friendly. There's an outside space for children with play area.... then there's the compound outside which you're supposed to be able to take dogs and bikes in. However it's all locked and you can only get into it through the pub..... there's a sign on the door of the pub that says no dogs other than guide dogs in the pub but you can't get into the compound unless tou go through the pub...... or try to catch the attention of the staff who then have to try to unlock the security gate to the compound to let you in. I say compound.... see the posted photo. Inside space of pub ok, ladies toilets very tired, worn, signs of damp, hand dryer not working and single ply toilet roll.

My own opinion again. Service is spot on staff on the ball and friendly ,soon as tables were vacated .they came to clean it straight away ..even the staff walked a old lady to here table with her food exceptional.well done ..the food was also very nice bo complaints from me today ,you must be reading this surprised. But 100%credit to the owner its a private owned pub ...also there is a great play area for the children and also very welcoming ..not been here for a few years and it's definitely a better environment. One last thing if you like onion rings these actually had onions in it will worth it

Visited on Friday afternoon it wasn't particularly busy at the time either.

We found where we wanted to sit and decided what food to order. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. We ordered x2 fish and chips and a pulled pork baguette.

On our table, the vinegar was empty and so was the salt. We had to source these ourselves from another table.

There was flies that were landing on everything including us and our food when we received it. Seem to remember this being an issue last time we was there also.

We went to get cutlery for our food only to find it empty. We asked the server if there was anymore which she said it was at the other side. People that came in after us also had to ask about this so no effort was made to put anymore out.

The tartar sauce sachets were out of date. Both with the date of 02.02.2025, so excellent start there.

A guy who I assume was the manager, came over to our table to tell us they're just waiting on the fish and food won't be long.

Still waitied a while longer, but eventually the server brought over a baguette, which when the person in our party started to eat realised it wasn't what was ordered. The server came back over, and realised it was the table at the side of us that ordered that particular one.

Even more time passed and still no sign of food. Eventually, the guy brought it out to us, however, the fish looked awful, dark brown in colour and clearly been done for too long, the chips didn't look much better either. I'm astounded that he thought it looked presentable let alone edible.

The fish batter tasted burnt, and hardly any fish inside either, the little bit that was there tasted of nothing and was really dry. The chips were hard also.

We waited a very long time for food to come, so much so that a family of 4 that came in after us received their food before us.

When we was leaving, the same server was walking around with food asking tables if it was what they ordered, when they said no off she went to another table. Communication is either really bad there, or it just generally is a free for all and hope for the best type of scenario.

I don't know at what was worse, the food, service or out of date stuff.

Will not be returning, absolute shambles of a place. There is plenty of more places in Filey or Scarborough for that matter where you can spend the same amount of money and receive...

Food was really disappointing. Arrived at 9.20am find other customers waiting at an empty bar with no staff… no music on and half the bar not set up despite opening at 9am. Staff appeared after another customer knocked on (I’m assuming) the kitchen door and requested service. No music on in venue until around ten minutes after we’d arrived. Waitress / bar staff was chatty initially and made good recommendations re. coffees and hot drinks options. Waited 30+ minutes for food for it to arrive at the table one plate at a time after an error with the order. Only one other table in having food so not sure why the kitchen was struggling / no further explanation given at this point. One order was inedible due to it being cold bacon half covered in tomatoes (taken off another plate, we then found out) when it was supposed to be a plain bacon sandwich. My friend is autistic and couldn’t eat the tomatoes due to sensory issues. My vegetarian breakfast contained what we were sure to be pork sausages, hash browns that tasted as though the oil in the fryers needed changing and eggs that were barely edible due to being burnt to a crisp. Waitress was flippant about issues with the food during a check back, suggesting that it had been stressful in the kitchen as ‘she’ (I’m assuming the cook) ‘had mixed up orders and forgotten to put Nutella with another tables pancakes’ (? unsure as to how this was relevant to our issue). When questioning the sausages we were simply told yes they’re definitely vegetarian (without a second thought or the effort to double check with the kitchen). We left most of the food and won’t be returning or recommending. I am not one to leave negative reviews unless I feel it’s called for - as a current pub GM and previous kitchen team leader myself I am aware of the challenges faced by the industry on a daily basis so would typically be more empathetic with other businesses. If staff had given any real reason for the difficulties then I wouldn’t be posting, however to wrongly prepare an order and then take bacon off a plate containing numerous other ingredients and allergens to then try to pass it off as a freshly cooked sandwich is something that I can’t...

When we walked through doors of The Plough Inn near blue dolphin Scarborough there was no welcome, and we were left to stand around for quite a while before being told we could seat ourselves. Once we were seated we began sorting our order being given a menu that was no bigger than a flyer. The whole menu was overpriced for the quality of food we received, which left all of us unsatisfied and disappointed with our meal.

After ordering our food, there was no cutlery out front in either of the trays and the whole restaurant seemed unprepared for customers. There was no organisation or control, and the staff seemed really confused on what was going on while we were there, despite there only being a few tables being filled.

We had two separate orders for the same table number and only one made it too the table after twenty minutes (which was fine) however, the second order was not brought out and we needed to ask a member of staff before anyone noticed that a meal was missing. By the time the facility attempted to fix the situation half of the table had finished their meals and everyone was ready to go after having enough issues with our meals. The food was not nice at all, and was not worth the money that was spent on it considering how pricey it was in total.

After agreeing that it was time to go, we asked for a refund for the missing meals and when speaking to the manager, we was spoken too in such a rude manner that I was shocked to see such poor hospitality in what is supposed to be a fun, family friendly, bar. Thankfully we were granted the refund, but when handling the final transaction a snide tone was used by the male manager and a disgusted expression crossed his face while looking at us leaving. This was not the type of behaviour I expected from a management member and was appalled at how easy it was for him to treat us that way.

We will not be returning to this facility in the future and the team leader there needs to improve on his hospitality and leadership skills, as well as exercise the common decency of speaking to his customers with some kindness...
