Stayed local to the pub so thought great will eat there if not out and about . First few meals appeared ok . Very crowded and noisey inside as wasp issue outside not the pubs fault . Sunday lunch ....oh dear Stipped all service till the carvery had been re stocked not how its done You keep the front stocked as soon as one thing gets low ...good 30 mins wait Cant fault the slab of meat that i got but frozen pale roasties ..and veg wasnt a great selection . Went in day before we left to find something had and solid on my plate . Had a prawn baguette...2 halfs ..by time i got to my second half just a soggy mess ...obviously prawns had been run under the tap and not drained or dried put st on the baguette with sauce . Asked one of staff to take the hard thing and ask what it was ...find out what it was ..apparntly a shell from the prawns ....i dont think so No one came to apologise even after i had said the food was a sogg fest . Could do with a light bight menu as alot of elderly go in off the train and some portions are very large . Bar staff were lovely and trying to clear outside with wasps but appeared no structure . Wouldnt use again x

What a gem! The Ship Inn in Highley is a charming riverside pub full of character and genuine British pub spirit. We were greeted by fun and friendly staff who clearly love both beer and people – in the best possible way. They let us sample a few different ales before we made our choice, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We sat out on the veranda overlooking the River Severn – absolutely beautiful. Peaceful, scenic, and with that quiet kind of magic you only find in places like this. The pub feels warm, local, and real – a perfect stop whether you're walking along the river or coming in from the Severn Valley Railway. One of those pubs you dream of stumbling upon – and never quite want to leave. Highly recommended!

Family Sunday lunch. 4 mains with 2 sides was £120.00

Really disappointed. 2 mixed meat lunch at @£23.95 and 2 roast beef dinners £19.95.

Ordered a portion of cauliflower cheese which came on a small dish costing £5.95 and contain 1 portion. Which when I asked for more was abruptly told that it was just 1 portion ........for cauliflower !

One meal arrived cold and 1 meal was forgotten arrived at least 10 minutes later for.

The only veg on the plate was 1 slice of carrot and a small portion of blaned cabbage ... This is the seasonal vegetables. No mash potatoes !!!

Our waitress was extremely rude and when I stated that 1 of the meals was cold, she state that it should not be.. .I asked her to touch if she did not believe me !!! My husbandsmeal had not arrived.

The roast potatoes were hard and no roast about them.....just dry hard potatoes.

I have eaten here several times and always had a positive experience..... I don't mind paying for good food, however this meal was poor.

Positive meat and gravy on all meals good, however a roast is not a roast without the trimmings!!!!

The cauliflower cheese was in a yellow runny sauce and again not roasted cauliflower cheese.

Pigs in blankets again anemic in colour and rubbery undercooked.

I did complain at the bar. The bar man did not seemed surprised

It has put me off and I and my family use both the inn and roe deer often.

I have to say that this pub is a busy pub, however word gets around and people will not pay good hard earned money for not good quality food.

I was so disappointed on Sunday, we did not have pudding and came home and did our own, as did not want further disappointment!;;

I look forward to feedback back...

I enjoyed staying here with my son. The service was lovely. I was abit apprehensive to go here cause sometimes going to remote places is difficult given my background as it’s hard to find safe spaces. I didn’t feel like that when I was at the Ship inn.Me and my son were welcomed with open arms. The staff I. The restaurant were lovely. We had one encounter with back kitchen staff when we were trying to enter but I quickly escalated it to the main restaurant staff and they quickly sorted the issue out. The breakfast team were so nice and lovely! They’re a good team and they will cater to your needs as best as they can. I can’t express how grateful and impressed I am with the service & staff. I don’t think the place needs to be updated as that was what I was needing as I work in a very busy stressful environment with constant changes. The ship in provides that countryside feel and nostalgia. I felt like I was back in time before all the stresses of the world were introduced. If you’re thinking of going please just do it and extend your trip if you can. Parking is great also and no accessibility issues. 2 hour and a bit drive from Manchester bring snacks!! Also a big thanks to Joe, he was so lovely to me and my son throughout. He made the trip so much more pleasant and very good service all around from him and the other younger girl I think who was called Sophie. They make a great team. See you sometime soon and...

How disappointing Arrived at 12:21 seated in the rear area, drinks order taken, short wait and drinks (2 zesty cola type) waitress said she'd return in 5 minutes to take meal order and hand us 2 menus, at 12:50 (20+/- minutes)I had to remind her to take the order, ok sat back and drunk my zesty drink as I'm diabetic and my glucose levels were fairly low and edging towards hypoglycemia levels (original coke is full of wonderful sugars),13:26 again called waitress over to ask about our meals, scampi for missus &, surf & turf for myself, and that we had been waiting for 35 minutes already, she went to check in the kitchen, returning 10 minutes later without explanation to inform us the meals would be at least another 30 minutes. I'm extremely disappointed with the attitude there,if they were so busy (they weren't, I counted 11 tables inside and out where the customers were either waiting, drinking or already with meals) the very least they could do is warn customers of serious time delays in the kitchen. What suprised us the most was the waitress wasn't even shocked when I cancelled the order and asked for the bill for just the 2 zesty drinks. Shame on management for running such a service shame on ownership for employing...
