Sometimes, in this world of gastro pubs and themed places, you struggle to find a great, British pub that just serves great beer, and plain satisfying food. I brought my daughter here on a cold, grey day. I'd just scattered my Mums ashes so was in a sombre and melancholy mood. Got parked right outside in one of the 3 spaces and walked through the door. Fire was lit.
London Pride on draft. The piblican apologized for the simple food she was serving because she was manning the ship alone, this was what I needed. I sat by the fire and chatted. A table of old boys were getting acquainted and talking quietly together at the next table. Then the bacon and cheese baguette arrived.... Utterly brilliant in the way only simple, delicious, comfort food can be.
This place represents the opposite of all of those pubs that have had thier love and community spirit removed by the chains. It was lovely.

Avoid this place and take your business to somewhere thatβs...

Very friendly staff and the price was value for money. It lacked a little background music but that's not enough to stop me going back in...
