We wanted a pit stop on a drive from Cambridge to Edinburgh and, as I'm sure all users of Google maps will be aware, motorway services in the UK are dreadful. The Leeming Bar ones look like more disheveled than most and bizarrely had a queue to just get in, but we'd decided to head into town instead. We (2 adults and two children aged around 10) found a cheap (80p) car park just over the bridge into the main part of town and took a wander down to The Sprouted Kitchen, which we'd seen on the way in. It is small with a good ambience and is nicely appointed while also being well tuned to children. Lots of drink options, and a decent number of food options, well cooked and presented and the staff were friendly although forgetful - needing a reminder to charge us for our drinks A solid five...

Wow! What a find, and what a fabulous antidote to regular cafe fare. This place is super inventive and the flavours they generate with their brilliant menu is amazing. The coffee, oh! the coffee! Its beautiful. We had loaded chips and the "Goodness Bowl". In the bowl was fresh rocket salad, sun dried tomatoes, quinoa, hummus, cold roasted butternut squash, onion, cabbage and optional southern fried chicken slice, with basil Pesto (you could have avocado instead of chicken if you prefer). Very busy for being "off" season but we were found a table. In the summertime there is seating outside too. Dog friendly. People friendly, and children friendly. Wonderful, all inclusive place. Thank you (from the lady who was having difficulty with her...

Visited with some family members, food was amazing, ordered the katsu loaded fries, though they did get my order incorrect, the veg was left on, they were happy to correct it with no fuss which was lovely. The drinks if I am honest we're a little pricey on the cold menu but the cafe is lovely and well kept. Tables have skirts so not ideal if you are a taller individual like myself but crossed legs allows me to sit under them.

One word of warning, single toilet for the place, not a massive cafe so isn't a major issue but I feel it should be mentioned.

All in all, well worth a visit for some food and I will no doubt visit again when I am...

We called one Friday, just before lunchtime. This cafe is lovely, from the tasty food to the friendly staff and importantly for us, it's incredibly Dog friendly. The menu is relatively small, but that's not a bad thing, as long as there's good variety, which there is. We really enjoyed our food and drinks, and our dog Albert appreciated all the fuss and treats. They do great coffee, with my flat white in a nice small cup. A few alcoholic drinks are available too if you fancy a tipple. We will definitely call again, one thing to point out is that they are moving soon, mid December I think, to larger premises up at the crossroads.

This is an absolute gem of a place. It's a cross between a great local café and a high quality brunch restaurant, all set in a slightly ramshackle but well presented cabin alongside the river. The staff are friendly, covid attentive, and really helpful. Front of house Lucy, and Chef Luke combine to make an informal meal into a real experience. Imaginative but accessible cooking which adds plenty of interesting flavours and textures to typical brunch dishes and daily specials. Great value, great service and brilliant food.

Best food in Bedale excellent staff and wonderful service. The quality and presentation of the meals is beautiful. They are only open from Thursday to Saturday. They are located on the bridge over the river and have both inside and outside seating. It's not possible to park here but a large car park is located on other side of the main road. It is a 8 minute walk from town centre.
