Woke up in a very dry Gosforth because we drank everything the night before, all I'm craving is hashbrowns, looking around and seeing nothing open! Nightmare! "Never fear" ! My friend yelled , " I know a place".on the bikes we hopped. The square care! Extra hashbrowns 50p and crispy to the gods ! We are saved. What a great little place, waitress was lovely, food was a real decent price. The guys all had the full English which looks great value for money. I had beans on toast with 3 hashbrowns and tomatoes which was great ! The food took 30 minutes which we didn't mind at all but the waitress offered us a free drink for the wait, sweet ! Some vegan sausages is the only thing I would suggest as an addition ( can't go wrong with Linda mac or Richmond meat free ) would love to see them on the menu on my next visit. Many thanks for saving our hungover souls !

Great little spot for lunch. The lady who was serving was brilliant and the food most excellent. Pro tip 1: the outside seats are a right sun trap and it's cooler inside on a sunny day. Great for your tan, though! Pro tip 2: during the Covid thing, call them first and make a reservation. I didn't, but they were kind enough to take pity on a salty, sweaty, cyclist, but I can't recommend that everyone does that!

We traveled back from the Lake District to London and decided to have lunch at this café. The building didn't impress us, but we were surprised by the kitchen and the friendly staff in this place. The dishes were so tasty, and the portions were big. We ordered jacket potatoes 🥔 and salad, and they were amazingly cooked! We highly recommend it!

The square cafe is an excellent place to grab a bit to eat or a drink whilst passing on your adventures. Set in the small Lake District town of Broughton-in-Furness with views over the town square.

There is outside seating, which is limited although you could always take your meal ‘to go’ and sit in the town square.

The inside seating area is small, cosy but homely, during the winter months a roaring wood fire often welcomes you. The cafe is pet and Walker friendly, so a great place to stop after a stroll on the local fells.

The cafe is a small business but has a big heart, rather than feeling like a customer you feel more like being welcomed into a family home with local pictures on the walls and sometimes the friendly dog will be there to greet you with a wagging tail.

The staff are friendly and the food is delicious, fresh and you can tell is home cooked to order. they often go out of their way to make you feel comfortable - perfect to spend an hour resting after a long bike ride, drive or walk in...

We stayed for a week and were very sad to leave. We were made to feel really at home by Jane, our host. Brew, the cafe dog is a gorgeous, super well-behaved character. The small village is a great location with three good pubs offering great food and drink. ||We stayed in a large, comfortable en-suite room. The other two rooms looked equally comfortable and are adjacent to a bathroom. Breakfast - tasty and generous. Easy reach of lots of Lake District scenery, the popular places to visit and Jane is a great source of local knowledge for the quieter and equally beautiful places to see. ||We felt super-safe with lots of Covid-19 precautions and we were very impressed to see how Jane is clearly a key part of the local community, providing meals for local support groups. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and great cakes too. We had a fantastic stay -...
