The square cafe is an excellent place to grab a bit to eat or a drink whilst passing on your adventures. Set in the small Lake District town of Broughton-in-Furness with views over the town square.
There is outside seating, which is limited although you could always take your meal ‘to go’ and sit in the town square.
The inside seating area is small, cosy but homely, during the winter months a roaring wood fire often welcomes you. The cafe is pet and Walker friendly, so a great place to stop after a stroll on the local fells.
The cafe is a small business but has a big heart, rather than feeling like a customer you feel more like being welcomed into a family home with local pictures on the walls and sometimes the friendly dog will be there to greet you with a wagging tail.

The small village is a great location with three good pubs offering great food and drink. ||We stayed in a large, comfortable en-suite room. The other two rooms looked equally comfortable and are adjacent to a bathroom. Breakfast - tasty and generous. Easy reach of lots of Lake District scenery, the popular places to visit and Jane is a great source of local knowledge for the quieter and equally beautiful places to see. ||We felt super-safe with lots of Covid-19 precautions and we were very impressed to see how Jane is clearly a key part of the local community, providing meals for local support groups.
