Absolutely fantastic service! Our waiter was not only friendly and funny but also incredibly professional. We’ve been for afternoon tea and lunch here several times now and it never disappoints. The Terrace has a beautiful modern setting (indoors and out) which is a real counterpoint to the very trad setting of the hotel.

They cater for vegetarians and various dietary intolerances. One of our party this week is gluten intolerant and everything on the menu was available to her. She said the bread in her sandwich was fantastic.

The food is not very good here, nor are the wait staff. Our fish cakes were unbelievably salty, so much so we barely made it half way through them and downed all of the table water. When we raised it with the waiter they were ambivalent to our feedback; a few moments later and we saw the chef shaking his head and bickering about our comments.
