Had a day off work With the Mrs and spented the day walking around the beaches of Blyth. Decided to pop into the local witherspoons, for breakfast, called Wallaw from the outside it looked a bit run down but wow inside was lovely very art deco keeping the theme of a old Picture House was very impressed. We ordered our breakfast which came within minutes of us sitting down the staff are very helpful and friendly. I would say the Wallaw and the staff are a credit to the J D Wetherspoons Chain.Well worth a visit.

During current Corona virus this place does everything to help. All staff work together and constantly check adequate seating is there for you when available. Food was great. Although I'd like to keep my 5 stars I'd like to point out that when you have to exit due to the 1 way system, you are made to walk through the beer garden through clouds of tobacco smoke. This was 2 non smoking adults and 3 young children. Not ideal at all. We did take advantage of the eat out to help out 50 percent off deal.

Had a family get together that was ruined by a very rude abrupt woman from the bar. My 16 year old had 2 sips of a corona cero which is alcohol free 0.0% which it says on the menu and on the bottle. Was asked to leave as he had apparently consumed alcohol which he hadn't. Won't be back again as there was no reason for her to speak to us they way she did. Maybes teach your staff to speak to people they way they would expect to be spoke to.

Food has been going down hill for the last year or so. So much so that value has now gone to a point where food isn’t worth what we’re paying. The overall experience is also strange. We were sat at the table before looking at the menu and a staff member came round and removed all the condiments and menus. We asked if they’d stopped doing food but was told we’d get the menu and condiments back when we ordered food. We had to ask for a menu again when choosing food - just weird. We ordered food via the APP and I added coleslaw as a side to fish and chips. No side order arrived so enquired and was told we’d got it, but was put on a plate with a burger someone else ordered on the table (they started eating it as assumed part of their meal). Their excuse was that it was ordered at the same time as the burger so was assumed it was for them. It was actually added after the fish and chips but before the burger. We also had to ask for the condiments back as well. All in all a pretty...

Very disappointing meals. Ordered curry meals. Both were cold. Asked for them to be taken away and replaced. Waiter said sorry but there is a half hour wait for meals. Meals returned were same meals. Half a onion bhaji on one and one on other meal. When meals first taken away they were piled on top of each other. So totally disgusted to to be given same meals back. Told manager that they were same meals we had returned and we were not happy about it. He offered money back or different meal. Asked for pepperoni pizza's. He brought them over when ready and they were hot. Found them to be very greasy. Manager never came back to check everything OK. Very disappointed in whole experience plus pizza meals were cheaper than curry meals. We were not offered or given money difference back. Think they all need to redo their food hygiene and customer service...

Whilst it cannot be criticized for much, particularly the cost its drink and food, there are nevertheless some issues around the range and type of real ales being offered. Although it couldn't be claimed that it has become staid and predictable as there are a good range of lagers, craft and bottled beers available, the range on the hand pumps is somewhat disappointing. Whilst there is a constant supply of Doom Bar, Abbots Ale, Ruddles Best, Shipyard IPA and John Smiths there are regular periods when there are no blonde beers available or when there are, they tend to fly off the shelf and are gone in a few sessions. The other main criticism would be that other than Mordue and the odd beer from Big Lamp and Allendale there doesn't seem to much interaction with the local brewers...
