During the summer the water park runs from 10pm through to late afternoon and the children mine especially love it with the surrounding grass area to picnic on great half day out on a sunny day. There is also the rose garden which drew butterflies to its beautiful flowers which was lovely to see. Within the park there is a small cafe that does good food at competitive prices with a seating and play area outside. The park also has the normal play equipment area with separate areas for toddlers and one for bigger children. The only bad point is that people don't take their rubbish away and I didn't see any council workers trying to get on top of it. There are toilets at the park which to say were reasonably clean. The car at the south side has very limited spaces but you can choose to park in the nearby streets or quayside car parks no big issue. I travel with my family from North Shields to enjoy the park so I would recommend this for a place for children, but the council should do more to keep it clean. Good job by Northumberland Council for providing a great place for families to...

Amazing Park, just like a Park 'should' be. Beautifully kept with constant planting, apple fruit trees recently added. Childs modern equiped comprehensive swing/witches hat type enclosed area, older childs area with zip lines and climbers and the most incredible water feature on ground level for children to play (safely) in. All free of course. Clean, well pathed and well maintained, it's a real pleasure to be there. Plenty of room and wooded paths for dogs without affecting picnicking, children with balls, walkers, cyclists et al. Dog friendly, not just dog tolerant, every dog owner will stop and chat to another if you want to. The old bowling green building is now the most delicious cafe/ restaurant with all food made on the premises. Tea n cake or Steak n Ale pie dinner, your choice. Free parking along the side road up to the quay and in front but a small, free car park too to one side. Never...

Me and my little girl loved this park. We visited on a very hot day which was brilliant as there are a number of water fountains designed for children of all sizes which were on from about 11am which was so much fun and provided a great way to keep cool. As well as this there were two play park areas, one with swings, slides etc and another for the slightly more adventurous with a zip wire and the like. There is also a cafe with a great selection of drinks and snacks with its own indoor and outdoor seating area. The park is much bigger than you would expect with loads of outside source for walking/running. There is also a car park to the side of the park but on a busy day you must strive early as this can fill up very quickly. I can't recommend this...
