Holidaying in the beautiful Ridings of East Yorkshire, we couldn't wait to try one of the cafes - this one, in the beautiful village of South Cave. Although we only had afternoon drinks and cakes, we will certainly be back for breakfast.
Prompt service, proper portions and reasonable prices. As Southern Softies, we're simply not used to this kind of quality! And the best thing? The fact that the locals (who clearly know they're on a good thing) will actually strike-up a conversation, rather than stare at the floor, which is what they would do in the cafes around us.

It was really busy with one table in the corner but people moved so we could get through and we found ourself seated next to a gentleman playing a guitar and singing.
