For one star rating please read whole review.||||We thoroughly enjoyed using the restaurant for lunch and 3 breakfasts. The food was really good and the staff were pleasantly attentive and helpful.||||Our room was in the loft space of a one storey building so had sloping ceilings which even my short wife managed to hit her head on.||||Room was warm and the bed was really comfortable.||||The Tv which should have been attached to a wall bracket already in situ was instead sat in the middle of the dressing table due to the sloping ceiling.Because of the lack of space on the dressing table there was no room for the tea making facilities or kettle so it was put on the purpose built space where the suitcase should have rested.||||The bathroom was cramped, again thanks to the sloping ceiling.||Shower was small cabinet with a shower head which had a bodged fitting to hold it in place.||There was quite a bit of mould around the shower base and cabinet nearly flooded due to massive hair blockage in the waste. YES I did remove it myself.||||No plug in the hand basin so it was difficult to have a wet shave.||||Shaver socket was dead so couldn't charge my electric razor.||||Light over mirror did not work and spot light in ceiling was dead.||||The room was not properly serviced at all during our stay with waste bins being left unemptied.||||We had to request extra tea bags and milk and when they were put in the room the door was not locked afterwards!!! The doors were not self locking like most hotel rooms.||||This year we have been fortunate to stay in many good hotels but this one was definitely not up to scratch at all.||||We did mention some of these points to Yin and one of the lovely barstaff/receptionists when we...

Where do I start! Went here with a group of 13 for a 40th wedding anniversary celebration. It all went wrong right from the beginning. [ ] Received Gin & tonic instead of with lemonade [ ] Soup came without a spoon, had to ask for one and got no apology [ ] Kids garlic bread starter was messed up as one was meant to come with hummus......which they don't have, but waitress wasn't aware of. They had to cook another. [ ] Behind where I was sat is where the till was. You could hear them talking all the time. At one point my son and I heard the manger saying 'If that guy doesn't shut up, I'm gonna knock his head off' Don't know who he was referring too!!! [ ] Child's chicken 'burger' came as goujons, when pointed out they took it back and put the goujons in a burger bun. (Saves wasting I suppose, but should have got it right in the first place. [ ] One order was completely missed, when asked about, the manager said there was a problem with the iPad ???? It would be a further 3 minutes to come (whilst we were all eating) [ ] Offered espresso whilst eating, as 'compensation' for cockup, which wasn't wanted as we were all drinking alcohol (It was a celebration after all! [ ] When came to the bill..... Manager jokingly said 'I won't add the gratuity to the bill'!! Too bloody right mister!!! Very disappointing...

Unfortunately, we have to give this hotel 1, for the unforgiving reason that housecleaning left our door unlocked all day on Saturday! The rooms are in a separate block from the inn and open with a key from the outside, the inside is a thumb turn. We left on Saturday to spend the day in London and when we returned late our door was unlocked. We bought this up with the staff and thankfully nothing was taken. The room itself was pretty large but on entering it was quite dusty and did affect my partner's allergies. We were on the ground floor and as soon as someone upstairs moved the floorboards were very loud. The shower worked fine and had plenty of hot water. A kettle and tea/coffee were supplied but not replenished after the first night. The food and breakfast at the pub were good although service was extremely slow Friday night due to the number of customers and we had to wait an hour for our order to be delivered, by the time this was finished we were told it was too late to order dessert, even though it was not our fault. Overall we will not be stopping here again, we cannot trust a place that leaves your doors unlocked and could easily be accessed by the public and no offers as even a free drink to...

You can see the tired photos of the room. We paid £151 for the night and really expected something cleaner (dirty tissues under the bed) and fresher looking. Please replace main lightbulb & how about a cute lampshade? The saving grace was Jersey & Sue. Jersey was very accommodating in the restaurant & Sue helped us with supplies to clean our windscreen (DON’T PARK UNDER THE TREES!!!!!). Thank you both & breakfast was truly delicious!
