Organised a private function about 30 people in their conservatory space agreed budget 10 per head.

Space held numbers with fully seated tables and could have pushed it to 40 seated if we didn’t need gift and activity tables. But the layout and space was lush for us plenty of natural light photos from event look lovely and was very warm for a conservatory space in winter which was a concern. Loads of parking easy to find and the conservatory has a separate entry and is easy to get to from main parking area no need to wander the pub to find event.

Was easy to organise had some miss communication on buffet order but staff are super helpful and accommodating to make reasonable changes and this was sorted easily.

Food was lush buffet was curry dishes, pizza and picky side dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options included and a great balance of options for children and picky eaters. We bought cake with us but also had some desert options provided. Every one left stuffed with food and happy.

Space was clean and staff helped regularly keep on top of empty glasses helping the event run smoothly.

Staff were all super friendly polite and helpful will defiantly be booking functions at this...

A very recent visit and sorry but I'm not impressed. I know that it has new owners etc but sorry, its not a patch on those who've had it over the past few years when I've been. Each to their how they run it. Having over the years bought the small plates options - there's now not a great selection (and no offers on these now), and I honestly wouldn't recommend the brushetta - the bread was harder than concrete, on a plus the fries were nice, I wouldn't say the crispy garlic chicken was as advertised. Not a great selection on gins etc either. Staff very friendly enough but no interest in plates and glasses being cleared off the table and no excuse if it being busy... it was dead. Needs a lot more improvement. Being local you'd like to use it and frequent it as a local, but at present I'd rather get a taxi and travel a but further for...

Order a bottle of wine and a pint of San Miguel. Service was quick, however, the pint had floaters in it and what looked like spots of mould on the inside of the glass.

The drink was exchanged, however, the replacement drink had floaters and black marks on the inside of the glass. This drink was sent back too and whilst waiting for a replacement, another customer asked if I was returning my drink. His too had floaters in it.

The replacement drink was brought out, number 3. This looked ok until I had drank about a third of, then marks could be seen where the head had been. I left the rest of the pint and ordered a bottle of red wine.

I wouldn't order draught drinks again. The manager didn't seem to bothered about the quality of what he is serving. No refund...

Hard to review. For the price, fantastic and I would say a 4 star. All this food and 2 large drinks came to £25. However, the pie was different from the one pictured on the menu. Rather disappointing. The chips were full on cheap frozen, still slightly frozen, chips. The choice of 3 small plates (starters) for a tenner (or 5 for £13) is great way to spread the taste. The beef was, erm, beef. Only a small bit of it was fatty and not editable. Nice, simple British pub vibes. Pleasant, clean, early 2000's music playing, lighting on the darker side which personally, I prefer.

Nice local pub with food but no good for real ale drinkers. I visited on 9th February 2024 the place was clean and tidy and I received a warm welcome from the member of staff that served me. However it was a great disappointment that despite having 5 hand pumps they were all empty of real ale. Sadly I went to Wetherspoons instead. I will give this place another try if they can get their act together by managing their availability of cask beers,

Great little dog friendly pub with good food. Burger was well cooked, and great value for what came with it. Great location for dog walkers as its only a 5 minute drive from Waldridge fell. Dogs are welcome both inside and out, with a rear beer garden perfect for dogs. If it's quiet, they could easily be let off the lead.
