This was our first time here and I especially chose it because we wanted somewhere that did nice cakes. It looked very inviting showcasing all these delicious treats. To be fair we had the in laws with us and it’s always a bit tricky when you have older folks especially as my FIL is deaf. So when we are arrived a lovely young lady greeted us and we were off to a good start but that’s where it ended. So I promised them cake and they were some tray baked and one slice of cake on show. We ended up having toasties instead. So on the menu it reads as Toastie , chips and salad £8.95 however when it arrived they were actually crisps! In my personal option £9.00 is steep for what we had. Next my husband went for the traybake ( having seen my FIL fruit scone that was over cooked and dry ) I didn’t have much faith that also coupled with the fact a previous customer had brought their cake back for the same reason. So just as I thought the cake he bought was dry. Overall apart from the lovely young ladies the food was below par and as I bake for living it fell short. Also misleading menu ( crisps not chips ) no selection of any of the cakes listed ( it was early afternoon) Expensive experience which I will not be revisiting. Such a lovely place which is such a...
Read moreNice little cafe shop who also sells crisps, cakes and hot foods plus hot and cold drinks. Customer service from the older lady was general and not welcoming. My jacket potato with the smallest amount of cheese and I'd say a maximum of 10 baked beans was served piping hot with a garnish of delicious salad. My Pepsi was placed on my table with a glass and no ice then I was left to enjoy the cold inside as it appeared just a little warmer than outside. It was nice to see they allow dogs in as this helps local dog walkers. I heard that they have local groups on and support groups for people with learning disabilities and so forth. My disappointment was mostly the jacket potato with the lack of value for baked beans and cheese at a massive £9.80 and the can of Pepsi was an extortionate £1.60. This is a nice cafe but it in no way is value for money and more of a expensive treat. I personally won't be...
Read moreThis is a great unstated gem of a cafe. It's awesome deceptively large as it has a function room to the left of it that can seat 100 people. But the beauty of it is you cannot see that from the inside of the cafe itself. Indeed it's very easy to walk past that part of the building because the cafe is bright and surrounded on most sides by windows that help keep the place looking light. The tables are well spaced so it doesn't feel cramped common the food is delicious and the staff amazing! I personally have grown to really like this place and go quite frequently. Weather as a social stop gap before something else or sometimes even to work on a knotty problem in different surroundings. It has a couple of tables with a plug. So it's...
