Recommended. Quirky place with a very good choice of beers plus cakes and tea/coffee etc for the less adventurous. I saw 3 cask ales, all from the local Beartown Brewery, plus another 6 or 7 fonts with various craft ales, lagers and cider. I tried the Beartown Strawberry Sour, very nice although not the cheapest. Quiet when l visited and the landlord was only to happy to chat.

Lovely quaint place, amazing. I can deffo vouch for the excellent service and the coffee and cake was very nice. I didn't have an alcoholic drink on this occasion, but as I love various Beartown Brewery ales, of which the Wonky Pear is part of, I know that will be good to :) I cannot believe it has taken me this long to try this place out, I will definitely be back

Lovely bar. The barman was friendly, the beers well kept and reasonably priced. The decor is relaxed and comfy and they are dog friendly. I recommend

A real shame to be writing this, as I love this pub, have been countless times with no issues. However, when catching up with some friends tonight, a member of staff came to our table to clear our glasses, simply stating "This is not a youth club, either buy another drink or leave".

We're all in our twenties, so to be spoken to like we're children by this disgruntled member of staff was more confusing than anything.

Left us all rather speechless, we've usually found the staff to be friendly and hospitable at the Wonky Pear, but this particular man was just...

Will never call here again. Rude service asked for 2 halves stopped the barman serving as he was pulling a pint, and said 2 halves please to which the barmaid said YOU ASKED FOR PINTS. I said no I didn't I don't drink PINTS. Young girl came upstairs miserable face, slamming chairs around, looked down her nose slammed toilet door Beer was cloudy barmaid tried to tell me it was clearing. Did not know anything about what they served. Aweful service grumpy rude...

A hidden gem. Such a warm, welcoming, cosy ambience & the lady serving me yesterday was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and made magnificent coffee. So good, I had 2 cups! A day of hurdles, being a stranger in town, this lady, her relaxed style and comfy surroundings were salve to my soul. Thank you very much for your natural hospitality . If I visit, or indeed, come to live in Congleton, you will have a new regular customer....
