What we thought would be a lovely evening meal, turned into an absolute joke. I’ve never experienced such unorganised chaos. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown where our booked table was, considering we haven’t been here before there was no heads up to, “order at the bar,” or “we will be with you shortly,” just a very quick and rushed “here’s your table.” Once we decided what meals to have we went to the bar, queued for a while as there was only 1 barmaid serving. We were then told that they hadn’t any roasts left, no apology, just a very rude response to our request. After choosing our second choice we then had to queue once again at the busy bar. Once seated and settled we then were interrupted by a waitress to say there was a 30min food wait, this was the first we had heard of the wait, baring in mind we had two young children with us. Our food then didn’t appear for an HOUR, no updates or kind apologies. When we finally got our food, it was literally just served to us, nothing else offered to us, eg, sauces etc.
Once we had finished our meal, the plates were left at the table, many waitresses walked passed but weren’t offering to clear the table.
We then called a waitress over to ask for our children’s pudding which we had ordered with the main meals, to which the waitress replied, “oh we have sold out of those,” I explained to her that we had ordered it with our main meal and had been charged for this, this was the only waitress that seemed to care about service and customers, she kindly offered another pudding but by this point we just wanted to leave. She refunded us for the pudding and the adults sourdough garlic bread which we had received as a kids portion.
Absolutely disgusted with the overall quality and competence of staff!!!!!
To end this appalling review I’d just like to say that we also witnessed another family having issues and someone at the bar who had been given a pint of...

WOW... What a place to stay and eat..!!
I wasn't expecting the extreamly high level of comfort and quality that i received here at the 3 bishops.
New Landlady Stacey and her husband Paul have really put their stamp on this wonderful venue.
I was booked in here for work on the Isle of Wight as I have numerous jobs over 2 days
My room was spotless and the towel animals were beautiful... (I went next door and there was different ones) The young lady cleaning and preparing the rooms was doing an amazing job and the high standard of the cleaning was clear to see..
This place has a huge outside space for eating and relaxing, dogs are welcome and a carpark big enough for campers / minibuses ect
Photos show a massive attention to detail on cleaning and decor throughout the whole place
The scampi and chips I had came out of the kitchen very quickly, it looked tasty to the eye and didn't disappoint... It was delicious and cooked to perfection.
Couldn't ask for better hosts.. I was relaxing in the garden seating area but the staff were always on hand, making sure all the guests had everything they needed.
I would highly recommend a visit to the 3 Bishops if staying or living in the Isle of Wight.
My stay here was so good for work in planning on bringing my wife back for a weekend stay.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars guys it's...
Read moreThe Three Bishops was a friendly pub with comfortable accommodation and good food. Unfortunately, I believe that they have been struggling for staff, so some elements did not go well. We were a group of men on a cycling trip, and had booked a twin room and a triple room. When we arrived, they had made the beds for two doubles (these are beds that can be separated to twins). There was no third bed in the triple room, so it was a good job that we had had a member of the party pull out last minute. Since we were only there one night, we simply shared doubles. Our group organiser had called multiple times in advance, at differing times throughout the previous week, hoping to get through to somebody and to book dinner. We also wanted to confirm bike storage options. The phone was never answered, so we didn't book dinner or have comfort in advance with regard to bikes. Upon arrival, we were told that they were fully booked for dinner, but they would try to fit us in and let us know. Fortunately they did fit us in, since there are no other obvious dinner options in the vicinity. We all had burgers, that were really rather good. I imagine that the lack of staff causes more things to fall through the cracks, so I hope that they are able to recruit soon, so as to keep this pub as good as it can be for...
