I was extremely disappointed to receive a quite aggressive phone call yesterday from a member of staff from Village Curry with regard to an honest review left on the 'Just Eat' website.
On Friday night myself and my partner ordered two curries and two sides. My partners lamb curry was lovely as were our sides! We couldn't fault them. However, my chicken Tikka Main was pink in the middle and I didn't want to risk eating it. I called Village Curry to explain what had happened and they kindly offered to deliver another portion and would take the original chicken back. Unfortunately, this was also pink and so I was reluctant to eat it. I didn't call Village Curry back and didn't ask for a refund, I just accepted that I'd been unlucky with this particular meal and wouldn't order that same dish again.
The following day, whilst out for lunch with my family, I was shocked to receive an angry phone call from a member of staff from Village Curry. The lady on the phone was very rude to me and seemed to have a problem with two peices of chicken that weren't in the box which had been returned. These pieces of chicken had just been discarded in the bin before I'd decided to call them. I was then even more shocked when she told me not to return to Village Curry again because she didn't want people like me there! She then hung up the phone on me.
My partner then called her straight back and she continued to be rude to him as well. She also asked about the missing two bits chicken! She said she was annoyed about the review and thats why she didn't want us to go back, and then she hung up on my partner !
I am so disappointed in this service. We've had many takeaways from here before and recommended it to our friends. To receive a phone call and service like this is absolutely shocking. The review that was left was honest and not harsh at all. Strangely enough another similar review was left on the the same day by another customer. Surely the point of a review is for the company to see where they can improve or what is a problem for their customers. A little more sensible customer service would have turned this issue round very easily and a further more positive review would have followed. Sadly we would not feel able to use them again regardless of any...
Read moreIve ordered tikka masala and butter chicken, plus coconut rice - dishes which I've had before in a good and popular Indian restaurant in London. I decided to give it a try with Curry Village followong suggestion of good rating on dwliveroo app, and I regret doing so. Taste and structure of the "curries" and chicken sauce were far from any other Indian meal I've eaten before. Food was waaay too sweet, as if they have put a can of sugar in each dishes and rice. It killed any other potential taste. I spent £42 just to throw it in the bin. I was looking forward to a nice dinner after a long and exhausting day and this has ruined it. What a disappointment. I will never order again from...
