My wife and I went here on my insistince because it's a bit of a Derby institution and it's got great reviews.

Our party ordered 2 x mega breakfasts and 2 x standard breakfasts. The coffee was fine, but it was just decent instant. It came included in the price of the mega breakfast, which was a very well priced £7.20.

We were all really pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. The mega breakfast had 3 sausages, 3 bacon, 2 eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding. I opted to omit the last 2 items because they are rank 🤮 I went for a hash brown instead. There were two slices of delicious toast and the aforementioned drink.

The sausages were traditional café fayre and the bacon was delicious. I love tinned tomatoes on a breakfast and these didn't disappoint.

The other thing I would take half a star off for was bean and tomato pollution. They were separated by the sausages but they should have been in individual ramakin.

Other than that and the coffee it was really good.

The café was spotless and the staff were super friendly and very helpful.

The lunch items looked great, and if I hadn't just had a huge breakfast, I'd have taken home lunch.

Definitely...

Very plesant experience and super nice service. Went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago on a Monday just before lunch. Very busy. Got served with in 2 mins and sat at a table within 4 mins. My choosen small breakfast arrived super quick and was delicous! I am allergic to Onions so I have to ask about onions in the Hash Browns, they didn't know but within a few seconds advised they contained them. My allergy is not very common, but the response was polite and quick. Again the food and service was exceptional. Most importantly the mug of tea was perfect. My only gripe is with the lack of parking as it intersects two busy roads, but this could be helped by DCC. They do offer to bring your food out to you if you are not able to park. The cafe is very clean and smart, cutlery is clean, unchipped cups and plates. Once you are finished eating the staff are very friendly and clean the table promptly as there are people waiting to be seated. The price I feel is fair. I feel if you visit you will not be disapointed and I am very appreciative of the experience. This will be my goto...

Does cracking breakfasts. Been there twice in last few months. They do breakfasts 7am until 2pm. Had a super full "fry up" brunch both times and me and my colleagues were suitably impressed each time. We sat down and ate. A lovely corner café feel. I think it has new owners. The food and service is excellent. I had not been for a while as it wasn't so good a few years ago.

My lunch breakfast was around £5.50 but that was with everything.. 3 nice sausages, lots of bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, baked beans, loads of toast (could have had bread and butter instead), 2 fried eggs (runny and perfect), extra hash brown (50p). I think that was it! Proper bottles of sauce too.

I would recommend it also for a business brunch for sure (that will be my next trip there) as plenty of quiet tables. Food arrived quickly, steaming hot on a warm plate with tea/coffee included in the price.

They do takeaway breakfast stuff and sarnies too of...

The best café in the city by far My only choice for a breakfast. Don’t judge a book 📖 by the cover because once you’re inside the service is always homely welcoming and impeccable - With the most delicious hearty breakfast cooked to perfection and served with a wonderful smile 🥰 This little café on the corner is often busy with a down to earth atmosphere and a buzz in the air. Parking 🚙 for three vehicles on the front or on street parking available after the double yellow lines. You will only have to walk a maximum one minute to the Café once u find an on-street parking spot. If you are not a meat 🥩 eater, then you can plump for the vegetarian options. This visit was a much needed tasty breakfast after completing our Markeaton 5km parkrun 🏃🏿 Then headed off to Matlock for the day browsing charity shops 🛍️ Wayfarer Cafe - ten outta ten

Standards seemed to have dropped unfortunately. Big breakfast at £5.20 with no drink included; the breakfast quality is not the same as it used to be, they are now using cheaper quality sausages and beans and the portion sizes have reduced. On ordering I asked for the big breakfast and fries and was served the breakfast with fried bread !! When we questioned the missing fries the owner (I am presuming) said I should talk properly - wow !!!! This place used to serve the best breakfast in Derby but they seem to have taken their eye off the ball.
