As I write this I am sat in the sun enjoying a lovely Cream Tea.
Now we asked whether you put the jam or the cream first, either is fine at this place but they did say the Cornish way is to put the jam first.
As you can see from my picture we decided to try both. I believe putting the cream first is actually better. It’s easier to spread and the jam is smoother and easier to apply on top whereas putting the jam first the cream tends to stick and lift from the scone.

They offer homemade beautiful cakes the size of a house brick. I would have had the Victoria Sponge had I not had the Scone.
