Oh my goodness me! What a stunning hotel! Everything is absolutely perfect! Nigel greeted us upon our arrival, and allowed us to talk in the lounge, so our toddler would be comfortable on his feet in the spacious area. Our Premium room is beautiful! The views over the fields are wonderful for your mental health, the bed is firm and comfortable. Lovely clean en-suite with a super hot shower. Complimentary tea/coffee and cold water in the fridge downstairs. Before dinner in the restaurant, we sat out in the gorgeous grounds, which have been kept so well, and all our troubles melted away. We felt so happy and my toddler could run on the grass, and as a mother to a small whirlwind, you’re always going to wonder “will they be safe, am I a nuisance” I never had any doubts. At dinner, we were well looked after by the caring staff. We overlooked the stunning views and our Pie & Chicken were exceptional! I highly recommend, along with the brownie & crumble. My goodness me, generous portions and utterly delicious! Thank you for being so accommodating! We look forward to coming back!

We stayed in the Shepard huts on the hotel grounds for a week in May with our dog. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving advice on walks, pubs and shops in the area. The Shepard hut itself was a small cosy place with all the facilities you need for a great stay. It's in a great location with superb views, with St Agnes village just a 15 minute walk away.

Me and two friends stayed in a family room for 2 nights as we were attending Rattler Fest at Healeys Cyder Farm (which was an absolute blast!).||Nigel and Jayne were very accommodating, answering all our questions before and during our trip.||Room: A beautifully modern decorated room which was very clean and welcoming. Comprised of a king sized bed and a single bed in an adjoining area. ||Space was tight round the larger bed but lots of storage drawers for a longer stay. A large built in wardrobe held an ironing board etc. Bed linen of a high quality and a choice of two pillows, soft & firm. The beds were extremely comfortable. Side tables had a lamp, - perfect for a read, a brew and a chillax in bed.||A nice selection of teas, biscuits on the welcome tray (nice big mugs and small glasses) and water and welcome fudge available downstairs in the bar/lounge area. ||Plug sockets had USB ports so multiple phones could be charged at same time. WiFi was very good in the room.||Bathroom: nicely laid out with loo (plenty of loo roll), shower cubicle and sink. All was super clean. The heated towel rail helped dry our towels so we could reuse them instead of changing them after one shower (we could choose to have housekeeping in to clean room but not necessary for our short stay). ||Some toiletries are provided, which is a lovely touch. Space was tight in the shower cubicle so an additional shelf to hold shampoo etc would be useful as it's difficult to bend down to pick up off floor if you are a larger person.||A shelf over the sink would also help as it was tight on the sink to house 3 toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap. Ultimately the bathroom was very workable and plenty of towels provided for 3 guests.||Breakfast: Wonderful choice available covering vegan and other dietary requirements. Continental, cereals, pastries, jams, fruit, flavoured and natural yoghurt, marmalade, syrups a plenty. Pre-ordering cooked breakfast a great idea as it saves waste. They were also happy to cook items to our preference. High quality ingredients, all cooked beautifully. Other items like porridge, granola etc were also available on request.||Dining room was clean, sunny (bright, even on a rainy day) with stunning views. What a great way to start your day! ||After our 2 night stay we feel extremely well catered and cared for. Thank you Nigel, Jayne and team. We hope to stay with you again...

Absolutely faultless stay at Wheal Friendly Shepherds Hut. 😄 Stayed during the summer break in August. Accomodation was spotless and well layed out, easy to find and in a great location. Parking on site, free WiFi, plenty of plug sockets, outdoor seating. Stable door was great for the dog so we could use the hot tub and dog was secure. Hot tub was perfect on arrival, clean and warm, with great views.

Staff were very attentive, it's attached to the hotel so there is reception staff available all the time, and they gave us some great recommendations on where to visit and when.

Also, massive plus, we left a sentimental item behind, and the staff have found it and have arranged to return it to us by post.

I wouldn't go in August again as the main areas such as Newquay were very busy.

Really great stay, can't wait to come again, just a shame about the British weather! But that...
