Whitehills — Restaurant in England

I fully appreciate this is a stressful time for staff of this kind, but I am beyond disappointed with my visit this evening. I went with my daughter, when we arrived we stood waiting for 5 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were there, although there were lots of staff wandering around. We were finally seated (after being told our table wasn’t ready because the people before hadn’t vacated even though they had been told ‘’for the last 45 minutes’’) and I ordered the food and drinks from the app. Both myself and my daughter are frequent visitors of the Walter Tull so have our ‘usual’ orders, so went ahead and ordered those. Drinks arrived pretty quickly, with food arriving shortly after. When we started eating, both mine and my daughters were so greasy they were inedible! Waiting for a check back, I continued to eat the rest of the food and would tell the staff when they came over (thinking any minute now!). Staff came over to the surrounding tables to take drink orders and walked away when I tried to get their attention - this happened on 4 separate occasions! We finished the edible part of the food and sat waiting for someone to collect the plates....we waited 20 minutes before I just decided to leave. And to add insult to injury - not a single member of staff bothered to say goodbye as we walked out. Don’t know if I’ve just been spoilt by the good food and customer service at the Walter Tull or not?! One thing I know for sure is I will not be returning to...

We was a party of three and ordered food and we waited for our food for 30-35 minutes before that we noticed a couple arriving after we did and they actually received there food before we did. I was OK with that, as our food arrived eventually and my partner and his mum had gammon and l had rump steak. The gammons were nice and chips etc was nice and hot, however, my steak was nearly raw and the blood juices were soaking into my luke warm chips and my portion of 3 peas (individual) and my sauce (which l didn't get to pour over my steak) as not cooked properly. I then mentioned this to a member of staff and he then said that he would get another replacement of food. I received my food after 20 minutes..my partner and his mum had finished their food and l the received my steak which was cooked how it should have been, as well as hot chips No new pot of black pepper sauce, oh but l got a portion of peas this time. So dissapointed as l was hungry and looking forward to it and it spoilt our nice meal out together. It seemed as if the person who cooked it forgot about my meal and rushed cooking it, was incomplete and...

Visited here yesterday afternoon with my dad and 3 year old daughter to get him out for a pint and a place for my daughter to play. Straight away told she could only have a go on the play area once and had to wait until the other children were off then it needed sanitizing. Fair enough but she is 3 and will want to get on and off and doesn't understand why we are stopping her. We were then asked by what seems the bar manager to stop her running on the grass which last time I checked wasn't considered a problem by scientists..who then spent his entire time stood few meters away watching us! Needless to say we left I have never felt so uncomfortable. I appreciate safety is key but that is taking it to the extreme. I was more concerned about the dodgy bench that my dad nearly fell off when we sat down because it was so wobbly..big near miss there! If you are that strict on the rules regarding children then I suggest stating adults only pub for now however with the lack of people there, and more staff than customers I imagine it won't be open for much...
