Wing Shed Truro — Restaurant in England

Wow! First time at the Wingshed and it has blown me away. This is not a restaurant and sitting in is not really an option. Collected my order which was a salt N Chilli spice bag and buffalo chicken tenders. Not cheap, however what I did get was enough for 2.5, Within a minute and a half of driving away from the shed, my car was filled with a sweet, spiced and peppery smell and my mouth was watering like a tap. Once settled ready to eat and I’m struck at last by the size of the portions, it’s at this point I realise I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. The spice bag, full of chunky seasoned chips, onions, peppers and diced up chicken tenders. So, so good. The buffalo tenders were lightly coated with a batter like cover (though very lightly). Drizzles of sauce across the tops of the tenders and wonderfully charred. The tenders were so succulent (I’d say surprisingly although this is exactly what I would expect). Absolutely beautifully flavoured and again so much of it. How can The Wingshed be better? Nearer the city centre perhaps (hard to find if you don’t know where it is). Definitely could do with a larger premises and the option to sit in and this could be THE place to be in Truro and beyond. Unfortunately this will be the last time that we get Wingshed. Over the course of months and months being very loyal customers. I can say we have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt the last few orders. But after ordering tonight, we were just left disappointed again. We travel a fair few miles, they used to be on time with their orders, now we have to sit and wait in a cold room for 30 minutes. Appreciate the ‘high demands’ but don’t give customers order times is you can’t stick to them. Quite a few times I’ve gone in and said my name for the order and then 20 minutes go by and someone says “sorry what’s the name again”. It’s not a cheap menu and used to be totally worth it but now £45-£50 for two fries a burger and tacos that are mid-temp, soggy with sauce and soggy burgers, doesn’t seem worth the money. Understandably we pick up and drive 25 minutes home but it has always been fresh when we ready to eat. It’s just really disappointing to see somewhere that was so good turn so bad so fast. The busier it’s gotten the less quality the food has got. If the demand is high, change the times and the staff, don’t lower the quality of your food. Also after waiting for ages for your food and then looking up in the window and seeing a full kitchen of staff sat on counter tops...

First time visiting wing shed and it won’t be the last ! I pre-ordered my food and was given a collection time. Upon arrival my food was ready bang on time . Chose to eat in the car outside as I couldn’t wait till I got home…. Food was hot , fresh and cooked to perfection. The chicken wings were moist and full of flavour , loaded fries well loaded and crispy . Sauces spot on and flavourful and well balanced, not over powering or taking anything from the chicken itself but just adding that kick and leaving that perfect after taste making you want more ! The halloumi …. Well I’ve never had anything like it ! Crispy , sweet , salty it just had everything. The sandwich was toasted to crisp state giving it a satisfying crunch and sauced to the max .
