Wok & Eat — Restaurant in England

Drove 15 minutes to the restaurant to order and pick up food, as ringing or home delivery waiting times are not usually great. Ordered food which was a small order of 4 dishes & chips (£28). Got home with food. Sweet and Sour sauce missing. This also happened in February of this year. Too far to go back there to get sauce. A chicken ball also missing. Rang the restaurant. Young girl that answered not very bothered - told her this was the second time this had happened & that it ruined the meal as the rest of the dishes are dry. She said she doesn’t have time to listen to me moaning so what do I want to do! I said I couldn’t believe she had just spoken to me like that. She said ‘you know we are busy, and a member of staff has vomited and gone off sick so now I’m on my own’. She then said she would refund the sweet & sour dish. I said fine, but it’s annoying it’s the second time it’s happened as it affects the whole meal as we use it as a sauce on whole meal & perhaps they should have a checking mechanism and it was only a small order. Her reply was that the sauce is for the chicken balls only so she doesn’t understand what my problem is & overall was very rude. Perhaps they should consider more staff or their current methods of service if reoccurring issues with getting orders wrong. I’ve used this takeaway since it first opened many years ago. Service has greatly gone down. On another previous occasion we ordered food to be delivered, and it took over 4 hours arriving after 10pm with children to be fed. They wouldn’t answer the phone & we already went out and purchased alternative food as didn’t know if it would arrive. We couldn’t get any refund or partial refund on this occasion either. Takeaways for us are a treat and should be an enjoyable experience & so unfortunately I won’t be using this...

DO NOT waste your time with the app, theres glitches and you end up remaking your order 4 times. I ended up ringing for delivery, made my order at 6:09pm i was told 30-45 minutes for delivery. I waited till 7:20pm then called them, i politely reminded i was waiting for my order and the girl on the phone was typically apologetic, and asked me for 5-10 minutes as the food was being packaged to be delivered. I live two roads away (dont judge, long day!) but i waited until 7:50pm then i got in my car and drove to the restaurant. The second i pulled up at the restaurant my Ring doorbell notified me and all the driver had to say was that its chinese new year and they're busy. There was absolutely no accountability or justifiable excuse.

I went home and got my food, and its their saving grace that the food was piping hot and we enjoyed it. Unfortunately i was too irritated to be satisfied. Simple communication like calling a customer back to applogise for the wait, or a simple gesture like a free item of food etc would have changed things, but as todays society sees it, I'm just another person.

Its a sad shame i wont be ordering from here again. And this isnt the first time they've been this bad, also their reviews shows its not just me...

We had a takeaway delivered to us from Wok&Eat and we really enjoyed it and will be using them again. They delivery time was pretty good considering it was a busy Saturday night and the food was still piping hot when it arrived. The delivery driver was very pleasant which was refreshing, as some delivery drivers are not. We had the chilli beef, special fried rice, special chow mein, chips, mixed veggies, spare ribs and sweet and sour chicken balls.
