Best Christmas meals ever. The starters were amazing, either soup, vegetarian nutty starter and salmon/prawns. Then came plates full of turkey, gammon, roast potatoes, red cabbage and more vegetables on the side, (the meat was 1/4 inch thick, 2 turkey and 2 gammon slices). By the time it came to the desserts, well you can imagine that we were all full, I had chocolate and cherry torte with vanilla ice cream as did another of our party, the lads had cheese and biscuits. That was not the end of the meal, coffee and mince pies followed, those we had wrapped up for later. Great place to eat, brilliant staff and we are booking for later in the year.

As it being my local, I don't want this to be bias review but as I also don't really do "The Pub" I was amazed at the venue's size and beauty. The staff was amazing with service and is a safe place for kids. Has amazing TV's for you sports goers and a pool table. I had ordered the chicken wings which I thought was expensive but the amount that came and the taste made it all well worth it.. let just say me, my partner and my stepson battled over who had what.. was that good.. if your close.. give it a try, it won't disappoint..

Wonderful atmosphere, great food, and very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the men's toilet's smell a bit, but besides that everything else is great. The staff are always extra helpful, which makes visits here an enjoyable experience. It's a very pretty pub outside in the summer, too.

Had a family meal here. The food took about one hour to come. It came in dribs and drabs so we were not eating together. Most of it wasn't eaten. The lamb shank was burnt and swimming in a very oily gravy. The eggs on the mixed grill were barely cooked, raw with a white outside. I am not sure if the prawns on the fish plate with the cooked salmon were supposed to be hot or if they had just been put on a hot plate and warmed through. Bit like having a hot prawn cocktail, clearly hadnt been cooked in anything, just defrosted and put on hot food, not nice. The vegetarian burger was enjoyed, kids pizza was doughy and undercooked. Out of nine of us, only two people found the food acceptable. No one asked us why so much food wad left uneaten. We ordered deserts, should have known better. One of the deserts was incorrect, waitress got a wee bit stroppy when this was pointed out to her. The food service was incredibly slow, no one came and said that there was a delay, service awful and surly, the cook needs to go on a training course. The toilets are dated and not the cleanest, must have a round mop as they missed all of the corners on the floor. It's not the most expensive but obviously if you wait an hour for your meal, people are going to buy more drinks and it really hikes the bill. Came here about two years ago and it was great. Really gone downhill. What a waste of time and money, came for a nice family meal, ended up a couple of hundred pounds down and going home and cooking something to eat. I won't be going again. Waste of money, spoilt our day. You should not have to talk about food unless it is terrific when you are out together. Not how awful it is and if it's safe to eat hot, recently defrosted prawns...

Me and my girlfriend visited the pub garden at 7 pm on Sunday 30th may 2021. For some drinks in the rear pub garden, unfortunately there was a group of around 8 to 10 guys who were obviously a little worse for wear, which is fine and they were enjoying themselves. I have no problems with that..after about 30 mins the group began to get louder and louder.. we noticed a group on another table get up and leave , without finishing there drinks, obviously there behaviour was having an effect on other people's enjoyment. We decided to order some chips to the table ..20 mins later the young chap brought them out towards us and then the group of lads called him and said over here laughing at him he then turned and clearly looked intimidated, and they basically took our order looking over and laughing at myself and my girlfriend. We waited another 20 mins in between a female member of staff had engaged in an argument with one of these guys due to their behaviour, and was visibly shaking by it..another 5 mins had passed I decided to go inside to complain, when I got to the bar the lady (staff) who had been arguing with them was crying. We eventually got a order of chips 30 mins after they had been taken by these yobs... unfortunately the whole evening was ruined , Also embarrassing as my girlfriend had come up for the weekend from Cheltenham,, and I said we can go somewhere nice on this evening for drinks in the pub garden. This is the first time I have been here in years .. and how it has gone downhill I must say.. never again...

We booked a table for two on Easter Sunday. Thought it would be packed but it was surprisingly quiet. We were met at the bar by friendly, smiling staff. We ordered drinks and were told where our table is but not taken to our table. Menu and cutlery was at the table but not laid out. A good selection of food was on offer. We made our choice and ordered it at the bar. On looking around, the place is in need of some TLC. The walls need a coat of paint even if they forego filling in the holes in the plaster, it would help to smarten and freshen the place up. We noticed a mixture of table furniture, some of it seemed to be from an office. The food came reasonably quickly. It was fair pub grub, lots of it but lacked quality. The meats took some chewing, the veg was good but the Yorkshire Puddings were either tough and hardly edible or shattered into pieces when cut. So yes, the place was ok. Drinks were good and seemed well kept and the staff wanted to make it all pleasant. Yet the decor and food let the place down which is a shame really because a bit of attention to detail would enhance it's ability to make customers...
