I discovered this delightful, welcoming pub today, and I am so glad I did! I am the Vicar of St Agnes Church, Kennington Park. I was travelling back from a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, on a coach with 20 or so of my flock. After 3 hours on the road, a couple of our people needed the loo, and so we stopped at the service station next to the pub. Upon learning that the garage had no loo, I thought that I could have pint, and hopefully the pub would not mind a few of my pilgrims using their facilities. As it happened, a few of my guys had a drink too. I had a most delicious pint of Salt brewery Alpacalypse Session IPA. The beer was amazing, the price very reasonable. My people and I were touched by the warmth, welcome, and friendly good humour of the regulars. And a very special mention must be made of the new and wonderful manager Emma, who went out of her way to be welcoming, helpful and friendly, sharing with us some wonderful places to visit when we next pass that way, especially the ancient wooden Church near Ongar. Emma, you did a fantastic job, you are a credit to your employer, and to God's own County of Essex. Wishing Emma and the Warren Wood every success! My wife and will visit again soon, when we come to walk our Labrador in...

They have all been very friendly, welcoming and have helped me find my oddly sized tyres whilst stuck in the carpark. I ended the day with a lovely chat and a pint from the pub and headed home. People here are an lovely example of good community. Thank you all for...
