I am in the food trade and own multiple food establishment. I searched up the closest indian takeaway with good reviews to a location I was visiting and ordered and lamb briyani , lamb curry with popodom to pick up. I own national chain I know the cost involved in running these food outlet/restaurant with rise of costs. To provide a high quality food is important but on the other hand should not rip off people. My outlets are priced slightly higher than my competitors but its to compensate for the higher price tag we pay for quality meat and ingredients but it's not a day light robbery. The biggest mistake I made was not asking the price on the phone but also the friendly staff that took my order did not tell me the price. My opinion is if you know you prices are a lot dearer then letting the customer know on the phone the total would be a good practice if I had known I would of have not gone through with the order.
Usually a lamb briyani elsewhere ranges from £5.95-£8.95 but here it was £16.95. Usually a lamb curry else where is about £7.95 but here was £14.95
Also in most indian takeaway popodoms are added in for free as a complementary product but here I was charged £3.20
Atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and food was ready on time. It's a shame the pricing is just way over priced. The food was nice, meat was good.. I regularly visit places like the shard I spend about 50-80 quid a head or shish chigwell aboout £40/£50 a head so in comparison to these high end place for Tandoor At The Chambers to charge £35 for briyani, curry with poppadom for one person is just day light robbery for this price I would of expected to say wow after my first spoon.
However the food was good not wow, I have many friend's owning various Indian Restaurant and I have had better Briyani and Curry for fraction of the price. If they had charged me Under £20 tops, all in for this order last night this review would have...
Read moreWe Eat out a lot Nothing special about Tandoor Chambers , Ambiance a bit Dark for my personal taste On the night we visited was very hard to hold a conversation with the person sitting opposite very noisy probably down to the acoustics of the property as its an Ex bank, building rather than the clientele. Confused about the food the waiting staff unsure had to ask management Was told the starters are NON HALAL but the mains are HALAL ?? Not saying its not true sounds a bit suspicious Dont quite see how that works especially. when there is an overlap . Stuck to vegetarian dishes. To be honest run of the mill Dall Tarka lacked the tasty punch it should have had Chilli Paneer was ok and The Peshwari naan was overfilled in parts and under filled in others so that you had in one mouthful an explosion of sweetness and in another virtually no coconut taste, or sweetness at all. I did have other dishes that were average in taste .Not to be unkind overall its a reasonable restaurant and most of the English patrons wont taste the difference But it s not a place I would be eager to visit again, We should have realised the evening ahead when we received the menu a Typed A4 piece of paper !!! not classy at all and at £65 per head that night very underwhelming. I was very disappointed but its all down to palette , personal expectation and preference others may find it to their liking and that's as it should be, we are all different. However universally good food speaks for itself on this visit it just didnt hit the mark with us. Definitely room for improvement no complaints about the service that...

This is definitely 1 of the BEST Indian restaurants I've eaten at.
The venue is beautifully decorated. We sat under the indoor tree which feels fun, looks beautiful.
The starters are phenomenal. Twists on classic keema as a starter - so flavoursome. The game changer is the kale chaat. I've dreamt of it since our visit in July.
Perfect blend of crunchy, creamy and diverse flavours.
Then the corn ribs. Wow! Genius. The masala (flavour) on these is KAPOW. wasn't expecting much from them so they're the underdog alongside the jale chaat.
As for mains, the best chicken curry dishes. We tried the chicken tikka and the pieces of succulent thigh meat have the distinct tabdoor charred flavour.
The Paneer tikka masala (or was it butter curry) was another level of creamy indulgence.
The bombay potatoes (?) - extraordinary for a potato...something I'd never usually order. Why? Crushed sesame crumb. It took a good few tries to guess what it was...crushed sesame for the gentle crunch and then softness of the potatoes cooked in mustard seeds.
Not to be missed. Best...
