McDonalds @ Brockhurst Gate, Gosport.
This particular "drive thru" restaurant is quite new, opening earlier on in the year. I have visited and ordered food here on many occasions and I have to say, I'm unimpressed.
Everytime (and I'm not even joking), I order a meal, I'm told that I cannot have a milkshake with it as, "the machine needs repairing" and they are "waiting for an engineer to fix it". Now I am either extremely unlucky that this only happens to me when I rock up for my meal or the staff are telling lies. I know what I think and it's would be the latter so, why is this always happening? My theory is because they've either ran out of milkshake or the machine requires general cleaning and they are too short staffed to carry out the process, which leads me on to the amount of time it takes to receive an order...
I can make an order and it takes forever! Why? I order popular items, generally a value meal option and I can be sat in my car waiting 10 - 15 mins before it's ready, I can't understand it, this is supposed to be a fast food restaurant but there ain't nothing fast about it. Again, I think the problem is staff shortages, plain lazy staff or both perhaps.
Some of the staff are not very welcoming, polite or well mannered, I have found this on most occasions. The fact the servers have to take other people's orders through the comms system while dealing with taking your payments or distributing your food, they can't really communicate with who's at the serving hatch, particularly at very busy times. I guess this is another money saving idea that McDonald's have introduced as less staff are needed. I think is just plain bloody rude! What happened to good ol' customer service, having the server giving you their undivided attention, it's really not good at all.
The "limited edition" Double Quarter Pounder. Well, what can I say, another thing that was not well thought out. So, when ordering the Double Quarter Pounder meal option I would be told, "sorry, we don't have any Quarter Pounder burgers left" and I'd be forced to choose another burger that I didn't really want or not bother at all. If you are going to be promoting and selling a limited edition burger that you know is extremely popular, why the hell wouldn't you order enough of the bloody patties in to he able to meet the demand? I mean, they had ran out of these QP patties within an hour or two of starting the general menu after breakfast, totally not prepared!
I can't really be arsed to go on anymore all I'm gonna say to sum it up is, it's a very busy restaurant (which is fine) but they never seem to have the staff to cope and the ones that are there, are not exactly quick. They can't communicate with you very well face to face, as they are too busy taking orders from other customers, which I find rude. Some of the staff are just rude anyway and they are told by managers, I guess, to lie about machines being broken and products not being available etc, etc...
It's a long tedious operation, having to endure rude and discourteous staff to eventually receive food that wasn't really what you wanted anyway because they never have what you want.
My final thing to say is, THOSE HORRIBLE PAPER STRAWS!...
Read moreI would WARN everyone to stay away, today I went to the drive through at Newgate lane Fareham, I placed my order then moved to the next kiosk to pay. I was asked to park elsewhere as the food wasn’t ready. 20 minutes later a young lad (Nathan)came to my vehicle and presented me with my food. I said to the lad I haven’t got my drinks yet so he said he would get them. I asked the lad if the manager was in and if so could you ask the manager to come to see me. The manager came out not asking if their was a problem so I had to explain I had waited 20 minutes and still no drinks she then said she would find out I said my foods going to be cold so she said I will get you a new food order. 30 seconds later the young lad Nathan appears with my drinks and the original bag of food which the manager had taken away to get me a complete new meal! So she lied by telling me she was getting me a new order. I then called the Newgate lane branch asking to speak to the manager, she was rude and not apologetic. I explained that I feel she lied to me about getting me a replacement hot meal instead of a Luke warm meal. When i questioned her about an apology she shouted down the the phone and said I did apologise clearly she didn’t. Then she hung up on me. I called back asking for a senior member of staff maybe an area manager could call me. Her words to me I’m not giving it to you you’ll never get it and was incredibly rude. Now if this is the type of managers you have running your business then I’m not surprised to read all your other reviews. Now if a senior member of staff would contact me I would be very grateful for a follow up...
Read moreAll the way from London to Fareham to visit our daughter and grandchildren for the first time since this crisis started, and the grandchildren wanted McDonald's, 🥺🥺.. We decided to use the drive through hoping to reduce the disappointment and time needed to be there, but it turned out to be our worst visit ever, and during a hot sunny day! Twenty minutes in a queue to place our order only to be told there are no longer fish fingers or toys in happy meals, then another five minutes before paying and several minutes wasted due to staff confusion! Then once at the collection point hurriedly given drinks and told to park up and wait for the food! 🤦♂️ Nearly twenty minutes later, drinks finished the food arrived in sealed bags, the receipt shoved at us by the staff member who then hurried away. Only to get to my daughters house and find a whole meal missing, and the rest of the food lukewarm, no sauces and chips soft and sweaty!!! I phoned and was told I could return to the restaurant and collect the missing items! 20minutes away, (40minute round trip), I asked for a refund and was again told I had to return to the restaurant for this!!! The only other option offered was to give me a code that could be used to obtain a meal at a future date to replace the missing one, BUT AGAIN only from that restsurant!!! 😡😡😡 I LIVE IN LONDON 60 MILES AWAY!!!!!
