I’m sorry to contradict the other reviews here but went here for a Sunday brunch and had a very mediocre experience. We sat outside as we had our pooch with us, no problems there. Ordered some drinks and a couple of bacon and cheese sandwiches. I have to say that the place was not that busy, there empty tables inside and we were one of two tables outside. The drinks (an americano and a tea) took 10 minutes to come. The food took another 20 minutes. I thought they had forgotten about us. No word of apology as to why they took 30 minutes to produce 2 bacon and cheese sarnies. Of course, we had finished our drinks way before then. The food was ok, although there was too much sweet jam that over powered the bacon for my taste. The sun was shining when we sat down, but after 30min, it had clouded over and started to rain heavily as we began to eat. We asked if we could inside, but told no as we had our dog with us, fair enough. But there was no offer of any help with our just arrived food! No offer of an umbrella perhaps or a takeaway bag. Just left to get wet. We had to wrap our sticky sandwiches in a paper napkin and find a tree to sit under. Rude - does that describe the...
Read more1st time at this venue as had heard good reviews and it didn't disappoint. Visited for lunch with a friend and ordered the special of savoury spinach waffle topped with asparagus and bacon which was very tasty ( pictured). Similar savoury waffle combos were available and looked equally delicious. We also opted for dessert and chose carrot cake . I had my reservations as often find cake slices too stodgy but this one was light and extremely delicious. Of course we also sampled the coffee ( cortado and decaf cappuccino) alas without the rude messages written on them for which the cafe is known for! Will have to come back and get properly insulted next time !! I recommend getting here early as we arrived at 11.30 on a Saturday and had to wait 15 mins to be seated due to its popularity . There are also some outdoor tables if the weather is fine . All in all a good experience if you want a sophisticated venue with light lunches to while away a couple of hours with your companions of choice. Handy car park opposite too with 2 hours' ...
Read moreWent with a couple friends and my boyfriend and two young children. They had a highchair so assumed child friendly, I assumed wrong. The staff did not seem happy with us being there and there was no changing facilities so had to change our children on the floor of the bathroom. It was a very limited menu with little options for kids, one staff member was smiley but the other girl really was not. Not sure if that's why it's called Rude coffee? If you don't want kids at your cafe then fine but either say that online or when we come in, although not sure why you would have highchairs if you don't like children being at your cafe. And if you don't mind children, maybe invest in a changing table or something. Coffee was nice (we didn't get any of the funny writing though on ours not sure if that needs to be asked for?) and pastries were nice but not sure we would return as was made to feel quite unwelcome...
