Recently been back to the Village and i have to say that i was far from impressed by the lack of cleanliness from walking through the car park to entering the property. Cigarette ends everywhere. over flowing cigarette disposal containers, Paint looking very drab and in general the place looks very run down and in need of some tender loving care.
Still plenty of parking here but you will need to make sure you enter your reg in to the tablet on the bar otherwise it could be a very expensive night.
Customer Service seems to have taken a bit of a nose dive along with the attentiveness of the team member that done seem to be on the lookout for the simple things like when a customer is waiting at the bar. if a table needs clearing or generally anything that a little bit of effort could be devoted to that would make the venue a bit cleaner and more inviting. Its still a place that hasn't change from my previous review over a year ago. the staff treat the place as their own social gathering and on the busier nights the service is very unprofessional.
Food is average to good most of the time and very cost effective. food is delivered quickly from point of order.
Opening times on the website are very much a "we will try" and open at that time. More often that not the opening times are later than the ones published on google.
Lets hope that some change and maybe a bit of a tidy up can change this review from a very poor 1 start back to my original 4...

Mum's birthday, so we were looking for a good local pub, with good food and sensible prices. So out comes Google, and shuffle through several local pubs. Brother came over to drive us to our chosen venue and after a quick chat suggested the Village Inn at Park gate, as he had been there in the past and was very pleased with the place. Well he wasn't wrong. What a great place. The food was cooked to a standard where the chef obviously took pride in his trade, excellent. The food cooked just to our liking, was served on warm plates, delivered to our table in a very short time by a very friendly waitress and the portions were just perfect, though I did feel a bit like Adam Richman from the T.V. program Man verses food, whilst trying to finish the pubs biggest meal served. There mixed grill. One of the cheapest mixed grills I have eaten in a pub restaurant for some time, great value. We visited 1.30 p.m, the pub had a light trade, and judging by all the other diners they all seemed very happy. Five stars, recommended.
Just one thing."Be warned" the pubs car parking system. If you don't log the car in with in ten minuets, or like some unsuspecting visitors forget all together you'll cop a £60 parking fine. But we found the staff were very helpful, showing us how to log our car...
