The Men Of March — Restaurant in Fenland District

I'm never one to leave reviews but in this case I feel I must, if I could give a -10 star then that would be too much to give this absolute shamble of a place. I have been to the Men of March a few times in the past few years and every time I go its worse than the time before. I went on Monday for my partner's aunt's wake, they were pre-warned of the amount of people expected to turn up (around 70/80 people) however only had 1 member of staff on. I felt sorry for him at first as He was on his own, but then when we finally got served (waited well over half an hour) he was extremely rude, didnt seem bothered that he was serving drinks that were wrong, never seen a pint with such a head on it there was no point in it being a pint! Wasn't bothered about changing the barrels/post mix for the soft drinks, he didn't seem to know what drinks they actually had. The place was filthy! You could write your name on the dust! You could see the footprints of where people had gone up and down the stairs to the toilets! The glasses were dirty! Quite a few people ended up going over to the shop to get a drink! Pretty shocking place to be honest.. had a wake booked here with around 60+ people turning up to find only 1 bar staff behind the bar taking nearly 20+ minutes to get a drink even then they couldn’t pour a drink properly watching so much drink being wasted the selection soft drinks was diet only coke and when asked if they do normal coke I got the answer of yeah maybe when I get a chance to go to the cellar and get one, bar staff has a right attitude on him and even when saying about having more staff his answer was well I got everyone served didn’t I and said yeah but took a long time to get a drink and he didn’t care and said we’ll at least they got one in the end, the place need a bloody clean it’s a shame really as the place has...

Just moved to March and wanted to try the pub out. Not the best experience I must say. We went at 6:30pm and they didnt even know if the kitchen was open. Our 'napkins' were a square of kitchen roll and the food was dry and chewy. I had half a cocktail stick in my steak so they didnt forget what steak was well done in the 5 second walk from the kitchen. However, staff were pleasent and we would probably return for a drink just not the food...
