Café Express — Restaurant in Fenland District

Horrible breakfast I was hoping this would be a good breakfast but was very disappointed. The eggs were disgusting, the beans were cheap and rock hard so clearly wasnt cooked properly, just nasty, the mushrooms were bearly cooked, bacon was very cheep, chips were under cooked very hard although were hand cut chips. Sausage was not great either. The toast was buttered for you and didn't even look like it had seen any butter so very dry and slightly burnt. So when I went to pay I pulled my card out to pay and the man looked in my wallet and yes looked in my wallet, and said, you have cash you pay cash and when I proceed to tell him it was already allocated he then said to me you have cash you pay cash and im to go to the cash machine which made me think he clearly doesn't want things going through his books. Just returned from Cafe Express where my partner and I had a full English breakfast. It was without a doubt the worst fry up I’ve ever been served. The portion size was very good, but that’s were the good news ends. Bubble and Squeak was tasteless and soggy. Eggs were watery and again tasteless. Sausages were mealy and so cheap you could swish them between your teeth. Bacon was a cheap cut but about the best thing on the plate. I spat food out for the first time in a greasy spoon in my life, and left the cafe having eaten about 5% of my meal. I urge the owner to head to the local Wetherspoons for one of their breakfasts, because at £8.50 per plate he’s achieving about 2% of the quality and value that ‘Spoons are doing. Great selection of food and prices. Only slight thing would say is why is the chicken mayo warm in the baguette as turns the mayo oily. But apart from that everything was lovely fresh real chips even better they were cooked in a clean fryer it seemed so great taste didn't taste lime old fryer chips. Portion wise are great fir the prices. The front of house staff really friendly.
