Very strange experience. I understand that the restaurant is popular, but we waited about 20 minutes for half of our order and more than 50 minutes for the other half. We eventually went to inquire about our order and found out that it had been called out, but we didn't hear it even though we were sitting right next to the restaurant. When we placed our order, we were told that they were out of noodles and that the cashier was "so busy that they wouldn't take any more orders." However, after us, we saw at least four customers receive noodles (and we sat there for a long time, as you can imagine).

Finally, after 50 minutes, when we went to look for our order, we were rudely told that we should listen better. But for some reason, our order hadn't been handed over (if it was ready, why not just give it to us, even if it was cold?). Secondly, they said that one of the items we had already paid for was no longer available and gave us a substitute. The other item (garlic mussels) ended up without garlic and sprinkled with the same noodles that were supposedly out of stock, because when the staff served noodles to another customer, they spilled them onto other plates, including ours.

The experience was extremely unpleasant. Both from the staff (yes, you are a street cafe, not a restaurant, but still) and from the quality...

Wish I'd had a chance to take a photo of the food but ate it too quickly. Even when super busy orders are taken and managed in good time and in turn, hot and cold food available too. Never had a bad experience here, nice music and atmosphere and seating outside Edit: just been back for our next holiday and they've done a little revamp of the seating area. Prices have considerably increased, and a couple members of my family have had to throw food away as it wouldn't be taken back due to inedible quality. Namely prawns, crab tail and muscles. I'm sad to do the update as I still enjoy it as I just get chips and my family get the sea food. But Google popped up asking what's changed. My main concern is the new pricing...

Always got people lining up for here so thought I'd give it a go, especially as it always looks so appealing with all the fresh food lined up to view.

Card machine wasn't working at the time, not something that can be helped but I had already ordered so has to run to an ATM.

Ordered fish and chips (as it's the seaside) and prawns with noodles. Fish was really good, bit the batter was a bit greasy for me, the chips were nothing to write home about which I was disappointed by as I wanted proper seaside chips. Prawns were definitely the best, if I could just have a pot of those I would just get that. Noodles were bland wouldn't have them again.

Price was decent though and the...

Located near the arches on the beachfront, this is the perfect stop off for a snack, and especially fresh hot or cold seafood including dressed crab, jellied eels and your usual potted selection. There is a sink for customers to wash their hands, outdoor bench seating next to a pavement play water feature. Public toilets are located nearby - just go through the arches and they're on the left after the fishmongers. Staff are product knowledgeable and welcoming, and contactless /Apple Pay is available. Just watch out for the seagulls!

Highly recommend here for fish and chips, biggest battered fish I’ve ever seen, freshly fried and comes in a cardboard box. I think you could share as a two because there’s a lot of chips in the box, and order some other snack things off menu to try. They have sweet chilli sauce, salt and pepper you can help yourself. The squid tentacles in my opinion was very average, probably pickled and does have a better texture than stir fried, a bit lacking in flavour. I saw scallops bacon baguette from distance, looks very tasty.
