A friend lives down here so came down on Easter Sunday , at the time of this review I have not had any food yet, so far my friend and I have considered twice to leave. The upstairs restaurant of this bar is nothing to shout about but three floor to ceiling length windows over looking the sea are a gem, we get a seat by one of them, I open the window cause it's a bit stuffy and quite warm to be honest. The man in charge ( so he expressed to me) said no, close the window quote " it will get cold very quickly and other customers don't like it so close it" i asked the next table ,,,, they loved it , nice breeze . Food has arrived John ( the name he gave me) ,,,,,,,, I have now finished my food it was way below average , I was insulted , reprimanded etc by a fool.. Summary average food and some customer service issues to...

What a lovely surprise! Looking for fresh seafood for lunch, we stopped by this place, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Service was friendly and welcoming to question and few adaptations on the dishes chosen, specially concerning my dietary restrictions. Menu offers plenty options. Food is prepared fresh, catch of the day was cooked to perfection. The place was not busy and we could have a front seaview table for us, which was a highlight, also enjoying a great playlist, being able to chat (without having to scream to be heard), and we were not rushed to finish our meal, which is fantastic. It's a shame I didn't picture the plates, but I guess it tells a lot about how tasty it was. Gone in minutes! Would absolutely recommend to anyone enjoying the day in Folkestone....

Having dined here twice before, this evening’s experience was disappointing. Warmed sourdough needs to be fresh bread. Potted prawns were tasteless, not up to previous standard. The sea bass ( alternative to the bream) was tasty, but too heavy with the capers. Nice potatoes, but who serves sliced carrots , as the veg? We were left to open and pour own wine, which wasn’t fully chilled. Really missed the bubbly waitress and chatty waiter from before and the owner. Another return visit probably not...

Great pub. We were lucky to arrive while it was still quiet and managed to get a nice table. The food was tasty. The burger was fine - simple and decent, nothing to complain about but nothing special either. The steak, on the other hand, was very good, cooked just right and not tough. Overall, everything was enjoyable, and we had a good time there. Dog friendly.

I came tired and weary after a long walk in the Folkestone warren. The lady at the bar was so charming and nice. I had the Fish n Chips, it was a big fish which I couldn't finish, but it was delicious. There js cold and fresh cask beee. And the music when I came was perfect. I mean, how many times will you hear Jethro Tull's Aqualung in a pub?
