So I went for dinner a couple weeks ago and they not only got the base of my pizza wrong but I was missing toppings, I ignored this due to the fact it was busy. Though yesterday it was nearly empty, I recieved the worst service I've ever gotten in any wetherspoons across the country. First I realised that my partner was missing his bacon off of his full English, when this was brought to the managers attention, she apologised and then proceeded to bring out burnt bacon to supposedly rectify the issue. When we stated it was over cooked, it took her all of 30 seconds to go and get more bacon, we then stated his maple bacon was cold and old, she said that's how it comes, okay cool... so why was the bacon brought out to rectify the missing and burnt bacon then cold also... we ignored this and decided to just eat. Which we then realised, all of 3 minutes after recieving our meals that both of our breakfasts were cold, not only were my eggs burnt on the bottom but they were stone cold as was both of our meals.. I couldn't be bothered to complain as the way the manager dealt with the previous complaint was just a joke... I couldn't finish eating it as it was just gross. 5 minutes after leaving, spending £21 on 2 breakfasts and a bowl of sloppy fruit that I refused to feed my 1 year old, I started feeling unwell. I was given food poisoning by the cold breakfast we were provided. As a mum of 2 eating out is the only break I get from cooking at home. I've been rendered unable to parent due to barely being able to leave the bathroom due to the food poisoning I have gotten from the appalling breakfast recieved. You don't expect much from a spoons fry up but you expect it to be edible and at a standard where you're not left unwell. I can safely say I do not plan in coming back in for food in this wetherspoons. Which is sad as usually I love a good spoons meal. But to be told our food is meant to come cold and to be served clearly burnt and then cold bacon is just a joke. Utterly disappointed. Also, check your fruit before you serve it to a child. Its not hard to send out a hot or at least warm meal.. watching the chef spend more time behind the bar than in the kitchen is probably why we were served cold food. You're better off going to morrisons for a breakfast because at least they cook their food and...
Read moreI don't ever like or enjoy writing negative posts, but unfortunately on this visit, I felt it necessary.
Walking in to the venue, it is aesthetically pleasing. Set in an old church, with ground being main floor, toilets in the basement with seating upstairs.
Whilst seating was available, tables had been left uncleaned. Very different to another local Weatherspoons, where they are constantly walking around clearing up. It was also quite cold in the building, which wasn't a major issue.
There are booths available to sit in, with quite good leg room, however a small table in that space, means you're stretching to eat your food.
Usually I'd order using Weatherspoons app, but as there was a managers special on, so you had to order at till. While the venue was not particularly busy, it still took 10 minutes or more to be served. There were two staff serving, but seemingly preferred to have conversations with friends rather than serve; I had to ask to be served.
Having ordered 2 hot drinks, and a Pepsi we waited at our table for food. We ordered a mixed grill and an American Burger. The hot drinks machines weren't working, so I asked for them to refill the milk, this was a further 10 minutes of waiting.
Having waited a total of 20 minutes or so from being initially served our food came out. The burger had half a gurkin slice and a penny sized piece of onion. The mixed grill (pictured) was poor. Meat over cooked, missing items (egg) and mash potato which had never seen a potato in its life. The food was extremely bland - I've experienced so much better in other Weatherspoons.
I know these places are cheap and cheerful, and usually offer good value for money. You don't expect super high quality, but I'm afraid on this visit it fell below what was acceptable. Not sure I'd visit this place again. Not a great...
Read moreHad a rather terrible experience with this spoons, as advised to avoid by a friend (which I'll get onto later) when I first approached the venue I was met with a rather rude doorman named Rhys who wasn't very instructive on my search and what is quite alarming is how he is searching didn't check for side pockets or anything that I could of concealed anything other doorman AJ on other hand was polite. The venue inside itself is very much quite nice with a old sort of vibe very relaxed. All bar staff were lovely other then a manager named Louise who was also like Rhys incredibly rude and made my stay short lived will not be returning. My friend did a few weeks on the doors here and his experience was of hostilities and power hungry managers and door staff which I can see where he is coming from as the doorman I was informed of at the time when he worked was a completely fresh doorman with only 2 months experience and had already gone power hungry and appointed himself "head doorman" which is disgraceful to say the least as he rather say something behind someone's back then to there face as for the manager Louise from my mates perspective she was completely out of order to him by making false allegations and also being incredibly 2 faced to him aswell saying one thing and trying to get off the venue as quickly as possible so will be making a complaint through the head office of spoons to make sure no customer or any other doorman get the same experience as me and my friend had got...
